CocoMocha
Starbright’s Divine CocoMocha isn’t part of her original menu any more than I’m part of the original Tribe, but I’ve brought in a caseful, just in case.
Master Chris Alan and I will have one each of those, please. Here’s to you, Carmy.
As much as I like the glyph I’ve been using (the story behind it is interesting and unusual), since I can’t get my WordPress blogs to accept it on all levels as a Gravitar, I’ve thrown up my hands and gone back to the one it does accept on all folder levels: this one. And in the end, even if the source photo is by the NOAA, this avatar represents me as a “global thinker” :) better than anything else I have.
May the weekend go well for you all. I am one of the few here who’s out of the loop with regard to Christmas, but one thing does come to mind: statistically, Christmas is the most dangerous day of the year. Stay safe.
I’m listening to the first album of the Bach Millennial Edition on Mein BachPod (attached to my iHome alarm clock) - the series opens with Bach’s sacred cantatas. I’ve decided to run through the whole series again, one CD set’s worth each morning as I prepare for the day.
Good Morning, Doc. Many of us would like it very much for all of the Tribe members to drop in more often.
Radical Knight told me a long time ago on FB that his schedule was just too busy to be a regular on Gocomics. I have seen a post from time to time and I do see him on FB.
Much as I don’t really feel like going, I need to head out to the shop. It is so crazy this week with Christmas and all. Everyone needs their cars fixed yesterday!
I’ll drop in from the shop ‘puter if I can. Catch y’all later.
Update on our local fire–two abandoned buildings, and nobody was hurt, but we had three (small town) local fire departments fighting it for six hours or so. The whole town smelled of smoke and burning wood, and a swath had ashes dusted on the snow. Made the local daily paper front page, displacing the “Top ten stories of 2010” from the main banner. Could have been arson–but from what I’ve heard, it doesn’t seem likely.
I’m more worried about our Californians, esp. Lil’ Sis–I hope they can stay dry and mud-free.
Well all almost lunch time for me. I have been going through e-mails. Ones who sent me cute stuff I forward to ones I know for enjoyment.
Looks like me might escape the nasty weather heading our way.
A visitor brought peanut clusters and brittle. Someday I need to try a sugar free one with extra peanuts. I am not diabetic but I don’t care for all that sugar. Everyone have a great day. Bye
Was anyone aware that we are featured in the “Birdbrain” toon today?
Oh, never mind… I just went back and realized it was Nov. of last year…nothing like being current on things.
Hello Humbug - I think the average temperature is 98.6° so that wouldn’t be a fever. Individuals may be different though. I used to always be a little lower than normal.
Radical Night, are you sure you aren’t referring to yesterday’s tribute to our dear departed Carmy?. Thom decided to repost it yesterday. It was still up for a while early this morning.
I’ve heard that 98.6°F was chosen as “average” temp because it came from the Metric 37C–which was rounded off. The true “average” temp is actually a bit lower.
If you really need more information than necessary, go Wiki
Sorry–had to hurry off to take care of a visitor, and then no time to get back before lunch.
Worse: I thought of another thought, which I should have added, and have, to the thought on Carmy.
Falling flakes of frost: cold, made of crystallized water, pretty in moderation or when softly falling, but can get nasty when there’s a wind so they come down sideways, or in depths of an inch or more…
bmonk I seem to remember reading (can’t remember where, that’s what happens when you read all the time) that “normal” body temperature was intended to be 100° F, but there were some errors on the part of Farenheit resulting in the 98.6 figure.
I read that too: 100 was intended to be body temperature–and then when Fahrenheit shifted to use the boiling point of water as a reference mark, the body temperature shifted…
From Wikipedia:
According to an article Fahrenheit wrote in 1724, he based his scale on two reference points of temperature. The zero point is determined by placing the thermometer in brine: he used a mixture of ice, water, and ammonium chloride, a salt. This is a frigorific mixture, which automatically stabilizes its temperature at 0 °F. (A mixture of ice and water also stabilizes, either freezing or melting at 32 °F though Fahrenheit did not use this point in defining his temperature scale). The second point, 100 degrees, was the level of the liquid in the thermometer when held in the mouth or under the armpit of his wife — subsequent refinements. Fahrenheit noted that, using this scale, water boils at about 212 degrees.
Later, work by other scientists observed that water boils about 180 degrees higher than the freezing point and decided to redefine the degree slightly to make it exactly 180 degrees higher.[6] It is for this reason that normal human body temperature is 98.6 on the revised scale (whereas it was 100 on Fahrenheit’s original scale).[
Hello Humbug normal is 98degree on temps. I too am lower so if my temp heads to 99degrees I am feeling it. 98degrees not so. If you have a head cold I agree 98 can feel like you have a fever. When you are under 100 sometimes can just be virus. I will admit I will go to Dr. if I feel real bad. I then feel like I’m chilling. With me Sinus infections I don’t generally run a fever.
100 plus one needs to stay home cause of be contagious.
We are currently getting some type of moisture. 30degree here.
Question would commentors like me who have not been with BT tribe for a long period of time make ones who been here long time want not to come back as too many new ones or fairly new ones commenting?
Of Course not Sister Kab. They can come here anytime they want and they know that. Why they choose not too is their own reason. You are a part of the tribe and we love seeing you here, don’t ever doubt that.
Thank you Little Sister I just didn’t want to scare anyone off who have been senior tribe members longer then I have. I have seen I believe I think I have seen were Doctor Toon has told others they will pull out longer couch and tent bigger to new ones like me.
I just didn’t want to make people think too many are on. I know for a fact others who have commented here have made it very interesting. And you Little Sister and Big Sister have made BT fun. So thanks.
Now Little Sister has is CA doing I hope starting to dry out and where you work at is the place getting better you can go back though you are on Christmas break.
I notice one thing on my part. If you remember those nights I could not sleep. Part I think the pills I were on still on one type though for muscle. A reminder I had three types of surgery one I didn’t think I need 3 years ago on hands for corpal tunel, neck I knew about then unexpected my Rt shoulder rotor cuff. I mentioned to others one would think I could sleep with pain, nerve and musle pill. Not necessaily. I have healed have been totally off nerve pill and two to three months now after weining off now off of pain pill. I have been sleeping better.
The Sojourner I thought ones who have been on longest where tribe elders. I never considered myself as such. I am serious here. Like I said this tribe makes comments interesting and fun.
The Sojourner have you looked at the streets lately. When I was driving home after 5pm and durn I forgot to print my check up can wait until Monday and no I am not trying to rush the 3 days. Was very lite mist or something. Roads where okay.
For myself this is the only way I can have it. Not here in virtual I can’t have too much or too little. I had to give up hot cocoa or chocolate milk or very limited on chocolate milk then I have to leave it alone for a long time.
I am not going to do this for awhile but eventually I might try to make peatnut brittle differently. Using sugarfree syrup and more peanuts. I am not diabetic but regular peanut brittle too sweat.
You wouldn’t like what I use for milk for cereal. We use skim milk because of fat content. For cold weather I use skim milk to cook flavored oatmeal for breakfast then add other cereal to it.
True story: I woke up early one morning, but wasn’t fully aware of what I was doing. I poured orange juice in my cereal and when I took a bite it was the ultimate shocker. I was definitely alert after that.
I am giving my lap top plenty of air. As a matter sometimes I let it warm my hands when cold. My lap top is very new got it so I can free main computer for class work and for fun like GC and BT. Everything is pluged in. I also need to contact AT&T since I can’t use Outlook for messages.
Little Sister I hope to show you not here though what I look like. I told someone else I didn’t want to scare them. I am average looking I told my mom I have appearnce on her side of family my sister our dad’s side of family.
I also need to set time to read all of Rmom messages since she help me and we email each other. She gets as wordy in a great way as I do very nice lady. And very smart too. I hope they are doing okay and got a big start going to FL with the family. I don’t envy that long drive.
Well How many start up programs do you have running then. I’m no expert at this like some of my friends are, but that might have something to do with it.
I don’t do like my daughter or son has done younger years they would have several programs I don’t. Also I reverse on computer not to have to many. Past instructors would say when more people get on computer slows down. With modern electronics in computers update this should not happen. One time I almost had a serious heart attacke when computer internet acted up and I was working on a timed test.
I break off once in awhile from BT to check other areas on facebook see what news has going with the weather we are currently receiving. Sheriff dept is discouraging travel for other side of ICT in a different county from travel as slick roads are happening. Here traffic looks like going streets look wet but also frozen. and The Sojourner said hours ago his company left due to slick roads.
My computer is old but it runs good. When it slows down at night, then I have to finish up what I’m doing and shut it down. I have since then set a time for it to run and a time for it to be off.
Goodnight The Sojourner I am watching news then shower and I will be turning in.
I guess with BT seems same on some things but not giving address out. People with usernames have seem okay. Don;t know people personnel here.
Well since roads are tricky one fatally north of a town southeast of ICT.
I don’t plan on being here for turn over. Little Sister try an eggbeatter omelet for turnover with light meats and vegs. For ones who are watching what they eat.
Good night too everyone.
We watched a Christmas Movie tonight “Silent Night” based on a true story. Good.
If your normal temp is in the 98.6 range and you have one in the 100.4 range I was taught that it is o.k. your body is working on handling the problem…101 take a fever reduction tablet/cap. Drink fluids. May have an infection I was taught.

I am giving my lap top plenty of air. As a matter sometimes I let it warm my hands when cold. My lap top is very new got it so I can free main computer for class work and for fun like GC and BT. Everything is pluged in. I also need to contact AT&T since I can’t use Outlook for messages.

kab2rb almost 14 years ago
I also need to set time to read all of Rmom messages since she help me and we email each other. She gets as wordy in a great way as I do very nice lady. And very smart too. I hope they are doing okay and got a big start going to FL with the family. I don’t envy that long drive.

Well How many start up programs do you have running then. I’m no expert at this like some of my friends are, but that might have something to do with it.
kab2rb almost 14 years ago
I don’t do like my daughter or son has done younger years they would have several programs I don’t. Also I reverse on computer not to have to many. Past instructors would say when more people get on computer slows down. With modern electronics in computers update this should not happen. One time I almost had a serious heart attacke when computer internet acted up and I was working on a timed test.

I am not receiving notice from AT& T about server being down.
kab2rb almost 14 years ago
I break off once in awhile from BT to check other areas on facebook see what news has going with the weather we are currently receiving. Sheriff dept is discouraging travel for other side of ICT in a different county from travel as slick roads are happening. Here traffic looks like going streets look wet but also frozen. and The Sojourner said hours ago his company left due to slick roads.

My computer is old but it runs good. When it slows down at night, then I have to finish up what I’m doing and shut it down. I have since then set a time for it to run and a time for it to be off.

My username is a little different then here on GC. Not sure on Photobucket to give you a little different. You would need to type full name and town.

There you would see who I am married to and other people I have know and known.

Mine is still the same.

That’s right. From what I know it really isn’t safe to post photos of yourself or give out personal information. Do be careful okay.
