Looks like the Weather Network may actually be doing a broadcast from this location. There’s a satelite truck accross the street from me among the other vehicles and people prepping for the Guarenteed White Christmas. I doubt I or my house will be on TV though.

Santa Grog - Yes, your right about that. They will probably shoot a before shot today, an in progress dumping and then an after in the morning. It may be on the local or national news tomorrow. I think I’ve seen something like that before on the final segment of local news where they show something special in the nation that day.

Not only that, in my neck of the woods they’ve gone from rainy to rain with flakes to rain with flurries. If I recall correctly, last year’s 3-6 inch blanket snuck up on us.

Okay, Santa Grog, ya’ll ain’t getting no snow. A family in League City won some contest on the Weather Channel, and tomorrow it’s gonna ‘snow’ at their home. The actual weather is the more typical ‘rain and in the ‘60’s’. And that’s per Channel 2 News.

We’re still holding for snow showers. We’ll know tomorrow whether we get any or not.

Work went longer than expected and then I stopped by my mother’s house to help her with some gift wrapping.

Now I am getting ready to go to Wolfangil’s mother’s house for Christmas festivities and then on to the Candlelight service. James sings in the choir for the Candlelight service. Tomorrow we do the same thing at my mother’s house in the afternoon.

Candlelight services can be so eerie. We’re doing it, too, while singing ‘Silent Night’. Right after that we get the sending prayer and process out—with the candle–to ‘Hark the Herald Angels Sing’. Up until that point I was protesting being left behind since I have some balance problems what with my corn/wart on the left foot, a year old sprained ankle on the right and a hip/back that can occasionally really be a pib. When the candle part was decided, I decided I’m keeping my little rear end in my chair. I’m behind the lectern, a nice little hidy-hole, and if anyone notices….aren’t they supposed to be looking at the cross i/o me?

Anyway, I’m all washed and cleaned and drying off right now. Got to be at the church by 10pm as we have to be done rehearsing by 10:15ish as the flute choir needs to get set up and tuned up to start at 10:30. So I will see you on the flip side, and who knows, I may make it to turnover. I’ll pick up a load of Krispy Kreams while I’m out just in case.

    MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

Santa Grog We didn’t like the Albert Finney musical version either, The Alistair Sim Scrooge is the best.

The Michael Caine Version with the Muppets (for heaven’s sake) is an interesting one and quite convincing inspite of the little creatures. I gave it a “look-see” because I like Michael Caine.

Back from church. It went fairly smoothly, even though the person in front of me forgot about her candle and sat on it. I tried to warn/stop her, but the candle was still snapped in two, hanging on by the wick. I took it and told her I’d hold it until time (I’m in the lectern and there’s a shelf). Fortunately mine was still intact, and as she had to walk out with the candle lit I let her have mine. If I put my thumb just right the candle sat up enough to work. The anthem, “I saw three ships come sailing in” sounded great and I heard some compliments as I worked my way out.

Well, I’m still wired a bit, so hopefully I’ll make it to turnover. Krispy Kreams are on the counter, ready to take to the buffet.
