Hello Rmom!
Doc T, could you tell that to the people who complain about the lack of color in my wardrobe? Apparently, colors are even supposed to be bright or light or some such thing.
Hi all seems my daughter had trouble with her computer, though it needs replaced, my lap top is new seems towards evening to bedtime is the most problem of slow down. Our son’s has a laptop not sure how has affected his. I had him in past check on this lap top.
I offically have my new text for English small book has access code. I also inquired about one subject I passed with a C if I were to take over can they reuse access code, have been informed new book oh well. I did learn something. Almost time for lunch then the rest. I will try to get on later.
Rmom nice seeing you here not sure if you would be since you have been busy organizing. I asume you are aware gas has gone up closing to $3.
Hi, NOLA & MLady!NOLA - There’s never a good time for transmission problem, but having it on a road trip is worse than having it locally.
MLady - Yesterday & today, we’re having above temps for normal, but a cold front is supposed to move in on Sunday, maybe even snow.. Monday’s high is expected to be 29°F, low of 8°F.
Rmom, we’re expecting to get that cold front early next week. Not looking forward to it. I’m going to have shut off the water to the sprinklers & bleed them dry and winterize exposed parts. Oh joy!
Kab - No, I didn’t know gas prices went up about a dime. Yesterday, I filled up for $2.83 @ gallon. Guess that’s good that I didn’t wait until tomorrow when I’ve got to go into town again.
Ooops! - Take a look at this map and you can see how the gas prices vary across the nation. I think a lot of this has to do with gas state taxes & regulations.
Grog - When we lived in the city and had an in-ground sprinkler system, we didn’t have to winterize it. All the sprinkler heads had some sort of a drain. I can’t explain much more than that, because that was my husband’s project. It could be that equipment sold in KS is different than what is sold in your area.
Rmom The exposed pipes will freeze, especially if there’s water in them. I learned my lesson last year. Admittedly, I did not have that problem in Dallas.
Yes, the helpful professionals who replaced our water pump (I wasn’t supervising.) took the door off the pumphouse and left it off and also did not insulate their work. Apparently, they neglected to inform anyone of this either. So…… of course that winter we had temps in the teens for over a week and once the pipes froze… They froze but good.
Sure, we were able to get the pump defrosted but over thirty yards of frozen pipes under the ground? Haaa!!!
Grog - I’m thinking that the equipment sold in areas which typically get below freezing is designed differently (and probably costs more) than what would be used in your area.
Ooops - Depending on how deep the pipes were buried underground, they might not have frozen. Usually pipes freeze first where they are exposed to outside air. It takes longer for the ground to reach freezing temps.
Rmom, it was a while ago…. I know a lot of the ground here is saturated throughout the winter. Temperatures below 30° during the day are a big deal here, so not something generally planned for.
We still have fall leaves on the trees, therefore it cannot be winter yet. Yup! Yup!

Most of the parties are for my daughter, teenagers. Some aren’t even parties just three to ten people coming over.
How many children now teens do you have I now you said one daughter?
For your grandma that would be great for others to visit with her she will have fun.
My mom has a sister who is older in carehome she has dementia and soft bones. Her hubby put her there may sound mean his health was horrible. He has been deceased she needs help, and loves company.
Part of the other reason why I am not on as much is because it is time for me to begin packing my stuff for the big move to the new house that I will be renting with a room mate.
I have been pretty busy. There’s hardly any time for fun. Tomorrows party is a family get together. And it is important for all of the adults to attend, including myself.
Well it is good she can wheel herself, but like I said…. you don’t want to be mowed down by a lady who is mad at you. Not fun (and don’t laugh at her, she might smack you).
I have two monkeys (one biological daughter and her older sister). The eldest I only lived with as a parental for about four years, but the bond is still there. Her mom and I never saw any reason to compete so both our daughters are comfortable with both of us.
Ummm….. some of their friends seem like they belong to me sometimes. Hmmm… Maybe if I got over that I wouldn’t find myself taking them out to eat? or making breakfast?
HopeandJoy, I live near Portland. I grew up in SW Portland within walking distance of Alpenrose Dairy. Which was actually pretty cool because they had things like the Little Britches Rodeo, Baseball Games (with concession stands) for kids, Christmas &Easter stuff, etc.

Ummm…..Sojo, you are strange!
Little Sister, is Grandma able to get around in the wheelchair herself? and BE CAREFUL!!! Cranky ladies in wheelchairs are dangerous!

My grandma can wheel the wheel chair, but most of the time an adult is there to push her around, to where she needs to go.

Part of the other reason why I am not on as much is because it is time for me to begin packing my stuff for the big move to the new house that I will be renting with a room mate.

Hopeandjoy, have you ever been to Klamath Falls. I have been there once in my life and loved it.

Yes! It is wonderful!! Sounds like you are an especially busy person the next few days. You’ll be happy when you get through the packing etc.

Talking about places you have been how I suffer from missing this. CC still has to be paid on and with vacation for me no pay.

I am getting off for awhile. For a change lap top is behaving and working yah.
