It wouldn’t let me post a comment, then when I refreshed, I was told to sign in to comment, but when I tried to sign in, I was already signed in. Coming back to the strip, I found my comment still in the box, and still couldn’t post it.

Howdy folks. If anyone is interested in buying a 1999 Dodge Caravan with a faulty transmission, I just sold one to a wrecking yard down in New Orleans. Oh what fun it is to drive from north of Birmingham to New Orleans at a speed of 45 mph or less. US Highway 11 is an interesting drive. Found a Nissan Maxima for cheap to replace it temporarily. Made for a really fun Christmas/New Year’s vacation. Nonetheless, got to spend the holidays with my daughter and granddaughter at my house in Philly, so that was good. Life is good. The details sometimes suck, but I’d rather live than suffer the alternative.

Yes, the helpful professionals who replaced our water pump (I wasn’t supervising.) took the door off the pumphouse and left it off and also did not insulate their work. Apparently, they neglected to inform anyone of this either. So…… of course that winter we had temps in the teens for over a week and once the pipes froze… They froze but good.

Sure, we were able to get the pump defrosted but over thirty yards of frozen pipes under the ground? Haaa!!!

I realize there are other states that are higher then parts of KS and then part’s of KS gas prices vary. MO I believe is a little cheaper, then I know someone who drives out there on weekends and informs me gas prices vary as well.

Ooops I had a popcorn and ice cream party (diffrent toppings) once just for fun. Sort of bizare but they knew what they were getting into. We played games and chatted.

Also, LuvH8 I loved a vacation we had in Oregon. Rode the Rogue and stayed at Medford, went to Ashland, I think and attended a play and somewhere around there I bought a quilt (Texas Star pattern) and paid too much but it is still lovely after 15 years.

Stayed in Astoria in a nice cabin by the Columbia head waters and we could see the bridge from our chairs under the trees. Very peaceful. We went over to see the Lewis/Clark Center in Washington too.

Ooops (continuing my saga) Did all the falls and flew home from Portland. We found a place in Portland I would like to see again. I think it was called ”The Grotto” We rode up in an elevator and watched planes fly in from a glass-fronted edifice and then walked around a garden of peace with many figures depicting Saints.

I enjoyed Oregon the 2 times I hav been there. Didn’t go to Crater Lake again as I knew it would have changed too much from when I saw it as a teen.

Anyway, I know you live somewhere in the state and I enjoyed the coastline and Klamath Mts

    not sleeping yet….

Sister Kab, this party is my Gma’s Christmas party. Basically, people come over, eat junk food, visit and give her presents. I hope they bring junk food she likes. I have no idea what there will be except turkey and ham so I guess I should make a little of everything too. (grumble)

Most of the parties are for my daughter, teenagers. Some aren’t even parties just three to ten people coming over.

How many children now teens do you have I now you said one daughter? For your grandma that would be great for others to visit with her she will have fun. My mom has a sister who is older in carehome she has dementia and soft bones. Her hubby put her there may sound mean his health was horrible. He has been deceased she needs help, and loves company.

My grandma can wheel the wheel chair, but most of the time an adult is there to push her around, to where she needs to go.

Part of the other reason why I am not on as much is because it is time for me to begin packing my stuff for the big move to the new house that I will be renting with a room mate.

I have been pretty busy. There’s hardly any time for fun. Tomorrows party is a family get together. And it is important for all of the adults to attend, including myself.

Well it is good she can wheel herself, but like I said…. you don’t want to be mowed down by a lady who is mad at you. Not fun (and don’t laugh at her, she might smack you).

I have two monkeys (one biological daughter and her older sister). The eldest I only lived with as a parental for about four years, but the bond is still there. Her mom and I never saw any reason to compete so both our daughters are comfortable with both of us.

Ummm….. some of their friends seem like they belong to me sometimes. Hmmm… Maybe if I got over that I wouldn’t find myself taking them out to eat? or making breakfast?

HopeandJoy, I live near Portland. I grew up in SW Portland within walking distance of Alpenrose Dairy. Which was actually pretty cool because they had things like the Little Britches Rodeo, Baseball Games (with concession stands) for kids, Christmas &Easter stuff, etc.
