Vet told me yesterday the SHE WHO MUST BE OBEYED’s new little doggies is not long for this world. Never dreaded a speech so much but I told her. Now will I have the the strength to tell her when it’s time to bring the vet for the last time? Those are not teardrops, just computer error.

My sister and hubby not by choice can’t have children. Have pets. Female cocker spaniel is now 16 years old. Our mom spoils her. She is blind with cateracts with arthritis. And a girl cat. She has had different dogs that passed on.

Being single (trust me as one who always has been) is…

But as a dear friend reminded me, better a house alone than a house divided, as is one he was describing to me last night.

A whim: now that I’ve worked out some internal issues I’m going back to my pen name Johanan Rakkav, but my avatar will be what is now my Gravatar and will remain so: a button based on what I think is the best portrait ever taken of me when I was a junior in college (1980). It’s in black and white, but somehow that seems appropriate as it represents some aspect of my inner self that remains the same even as I age relentlessly in the Real World.

Anyway…

I’ll take some Starbright’s Divine CocoMocha, please. For Alain Harper has refused, gently but firmly, to become CEO of that company and has said, “Chris Alan, I appreciate your deference, but you’re MY boss and YOU should deal with this matter while I take care of other things for which you’ve specifically assigned me.” And Chris Alan had to see the sense of that in the end.

I, of course, remain the earthly distributor of that wonderful elixer. Drink up folks, it’s good for you and it mitigates most of the unpredictability of DTWFNC when the two are properly blended by anyone but Ooops!. ;).

LewReader * I am sorry for you and *she who must be obeyed. I don’t deal with suffering of others very well…as in pets so when we have had to release them due to age or injury, it helps to know they are no longer struggling. It hurts to lose a pet you love and you miss them.

They won the basketball regular season championship in the Big 12. (by beating Missouri) The Big 12 tourney starts in KC Wed. It could have Texas as champs but doubt it now.)

It just happened at 1 pm CST today….Saturday.

My basketball team plays tonight with a championship regular season and maybe more on the line.

I’m on and off as I’m upgrading to Explorer 9. I did it once but it doesn’t have the Favorites Bar which I needed to know what I had on it so I reverted back to Explorer 8. Will try again now that I have the site locations saved.

Just catching up on your lives……..

Doc…have a wonderful vacation. I LOVE going to cabins…usually it’s sooooooooooooo relaxing! No phones, or tv, just quiet times.

Johanan…..you’re welcome…..I really do read everyone’s notes. Sometimes I don’t have the time to comment, but it is still fun to hear what everyone is doing.

We went out to breakfast today to a local favorite cafe……they have such good food. Had to wait in line, but it was really worth it. Everything is homemade and quite delicious. They even had Ooops’ chocolate cake!

NOW I know how to show the Favorites Bar in Explorer 9. I had read and watched their videos about E9 and it never mentioned it. I accidentally found out how to show it just now.

Hello pseudo - I found out by right clicking the Home button (which doesn’t show if you open a web site you’ve pinned to the task bar, and I now know you can right click the Favorites or Tools button) that a list shows and you can check to show the Favorites Bar. I also notice when you save a comment here it doesn’t refresh the screen automatically and you still see your comment in the Post Comment box untill you refresh the screen. As I always refresh the screen anyway I guess that doesn’t matter, just need to get use to it. Flash Player in a 64-bit version is in beta right now. When it comes out I can start using IE9 in 64-bit all the time to free up more memory.

The bar that shows the ‘View’ choice was turned off. Everything i read and saw about IE9 said how it showed more of the web page by reducing the room at the top. That bar can be turned on the same way. Untill now I didn’t know it had a ‘View’ choice. Oh well, just part of the learning curve! :-)

pseudo - It takes me awhile to type as I can only use one hand with one finger and have some vision problems. I think you posted while I was typing and I didn’t see it untill I posted. :-)

It’s supposed to be faster. As it will replace the older versions that will have to be the way to go if you use Exolorer. I tried Firefox and liked some things about it better but some things in Explorer better. I guess it’s what your use to and prefer. As far as browsers go Explorer (8 and earlier), Firefox, Safarri, etc. all stopped about 25% of attackes by viruses etc. while IE9 stopped 99%. I’m not sure what it was actually testing but it was by an independent sourse.

After all these years, I finally saw the end of Sergeant York. I bought that movie for my Mom years ago, but the end was cut off after 2 hours. What a disappointment.

But I saw it on DVD tonight for the first time and I think I could really love that movie now.

I’ve seen at least part of it. Seemed very good.

Started a new movie at 10:00 The Driver with Ryan O’Neal, Bruce Dern and Isabelle Adjani. It’s a lot better, I think this will go to the end.

Just saw a real “interesting” Alfred Hitchcock Presents. Turns out the lamb specialty of the house is it’s own former member of the exclusive dining establilshment.

An interesting show Grog. It was on a couple of weeks ago here.

A local station shows the 30 min, Alfred Hitdhcock shows Mon. thru Fri. and the hour show on Sat. but I missed todays.

This one was just the half hour version. But I don’t think either one of us want to meet the chef in that one…..and now that I know the main ingredient, I don’t want to eat there either.

And then there are those who will eat bugs. I won’t even eat peanutbutter. Yeah, I’m finicky.

Well i’ll be lucky enough to catch the end of The Outer Limits. My eyelids are getting real heavy right now.
