pseudo, I read your comment from last night.

Interesting comparison. If I were to use ice cream, I would say that The Beatles were plain vanilla with their offerings, with certain exceptions like Strawberry Fields, Yellow Submarine and later Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da which were awefull.

I think The Stones more like wild raspberry a much more delicious alternative. I’ll take any of the Stones offerings that didn’t even chart (Gimme Shelter, Sympathy For the Devil & You Can’t Always Get What You Want) over any of the Beatles offerings.

I will admit that the Beatles did open the door for some other groups as well, like The Animals (Love House Of the Rising Sun & Sky Pilot*) The Hollies & The Kinks.

    Good afternoon, Tribe.

I seem to be popping in these days when no one else is around.

Once again, HopeandJoy♫, good to see you back.

pseudo, I am aware of the Beatles volume of work as well as the Stones’. I just put together a short list of the ones I didn’t like and a short list of the Stones songs I love that didn’t even chart. When I elected to start building a CD library, it was easy for me to make the Stones, ELO and CCR early additions to the collection. Even though I don’t like Miss You I did buy the Some Girls album, because the rest was very much to my liking. Slowly I added more of the ones I loved on vinyl. Still no Beatles.

The # of #1 singles one has will not influence my tastes. Though I have some Elvis, I love Buddy Holly. I will never own Michael Jackson, George Michael or Prince. I will buy Eric Clapton and I don’t recall him having any # 1 hits; I just like his style. It suits my particular tastes. Same with Sprigsteen, Supertramp and a host of other long-time favorites

It was overflowing our trash corral in the garage, but it had been too windy any day I thought about it. Burnt a little grass around the barrels, but had the garden hose to keep it from spreading too far. I also started cleaning out the fridge, because something was starting to stink, and I couldn’t figure it out. I think I found it, but need to finish the job now.
