If you can find a clean pan and spatula, some eggs fried in butter, sunny side up, would be wonderful about seven-ish AM. I’ll have one of my aides whip up som OJ and CocoMocha from the alternate menu. One step closer to my (this character) seeing the light of day in print…Banana futures…yeah, that might work. The worldwide tide of debt may turn us all into banana republics anyway.

Good morning, simpson’sfan2, Alain & Lewreader

Simpsonsfan2, I’ll have one of everything, except the coffee.

Also, I ALWAYS cook my eggs in bacon grease. Butter -or even oil – just doesn’t cut it. I also save those pan dripping for those days when I would prefer to have pork sausage & eggs.

Bmonk, You said tomoorrow is yellow pig day because of prime numbers. This confuddles me. What about all the other prime number dates? Or is July 17th really the only prime day? I like odd numbers, I like prime numbers (except the name) but I am not a mathematical genius such as yourself. This makes no sense to me. Why aren’t you celebrating Yellow Pig Days in January, February, March, May, July and November? How do you determine the day?

Ahhhhh. One nice bicycle ride later, it’s time for second breakfast and herbal tea. Part of the reason for the ride was to hit up one particular store that has a sale on cast iron pots and pans. I’m on a life-long (Hqiz, I hope not!) mission to find a good cast iron frying pan. I bought two before I was married, and they tarnished the good reputation of cast iron: uneven heat, if you can believe it! And the bottoms of them have a sandy texture that’s probably from the casting process. I know what I’m looking for: Lodge brand pans are supposed to be good, but a long-ago girlfriend had her mother’s pan that was old then. Perfectly smooth inside, and it could make such beautiful pancakes!

Doctor Toon & Sojo , I don’t know what you’re so envious about. All the rain has done is increase the humidity to like 120% (In know it can’t go that high but it sure feels that way) while shaving off a couple degrees from the high temperature. It feels like a sauna out there. I’ll take the heat anytime, except we could really use the rain. If we get enough, maybe they’ll take us off water restrictions.

Goodest morning, everybodies!(Especially my favoritest Saskfan, SR Mom, LuvH8, Sojo, & ♥Lil’ Sis♥!)+++++Breakfast sounds really good, even if it’s near lunchtime. I’ll have a nice helping of it all.+++++We’re in on the heat wave too—mid-90s plus thru the middle of next week. Worse, at least one night will only get down to the mid-70s, and a few others in low 70s—which is really warm when you use natural air-conditioning.+++++LuvH8 said, about 2 alarms ago“I was shocked! My daughter did not know that Corvettes and other such cars are basically phallic symbols on wheels.”.Don’t forget the cars that are “chick cars”—that is, cars that chicks love to drive. This makes no sense to me. Why aren’t you celebrating Yellow Pig Days in January, February, March, May, July and November? How do you determine the day?”.Remember, you asked.17 is the random prime—it just has nice qualities, so that when you need a random prime in Number Theory, for some reason it always comes up 17. Because of that, and since there’s no 17th months, and because summer programs usually run from June thru August sometime, the best month for a celebration is mid-July—and 7/17 just happens to fit well. So 7/17 is Yellow Pig day!

My sister actually lives in WA but has to be in Oakland on call as she is new to her job and is on reserve for flights, meaning if she gets called great, if not she spends 3 days waiting in limbo and paying for a place to stay during the 3 days…
