Hi Rmom – Had an apt. with my cardiologisr. It was a regular apt. but when they called to confermin it yesterday they wanted me in earlier for a test. After there they then wanted to do another test. Change in a perscription needed. At this rate I’ll get out of Medicare’s donut hole quicker. :-)

Donkey Hotey It’s been here a long time in Kansas with no end in sight yet.

We wish it was last week for us! The weather station near my house shows the current temperature as 107.7°F.

Driving through the country, I saw so many corn fields that were brown, and never grew any ears. It is a really tough year, especially for the farmers.

I think it was 111° yesterday? (I forgot but it’s been there twice) A town about 80 miles north of me got to 112°.

Yesterday’s high was 109.7°F for the same weather station. I remember the summer of 1980 being extremely hot too. I’m glad this doesn’t happen every year.

To keep things in perspective though I have 3 nephews that have/are serving in Iraq and Afghanistan and this is cool compared to what they’ve put up with.

The humidity is only 23% right now. As dry as it has been, it isn’t too surprising. It was higher just a few days ago. The average humidity this month is 56.9%, with the high at 95%. But when I step outside, it feels like I’m walking into a big oven. Even if there is a breeze, it doesn’t help, because the temperature is above my body’s temperature. Just feels like a furnace blowing out hot air.

Received the electric bill today. We are about to become more conscious of global warming in my household. Ac is now set at 83. If you’re not watching the TV for 15 seconds, turn it off. Hey, didn’t you ever hear of a Navy shower. The fridge isn’t a movie theater. Close the door.

Sojo – I see there is some rain between Dodge City & Hutchinson. It would be good to get some of that, but at this point, it will probably go north. Wichita is currently under a water restriction until tomorrow.

Rmom, just missed you but I I hope you see this,

We got a rain tease today but because I forgot to water Tuesday, I watered once early this morning and again after 8 tonight. That’s probably more water than we’ll see over the next 3 days. We’re not expected to see much more than a half inch out of that system heading towards Corpus, unless of course it happens to shift more towards us. The expected coverage is 60% Friday and 40% for the weekend. I don’t have high hopes that we’ll get more than a lot of wind.
