Brilliant! I haven’t seen a typewriter in a long time. Oh, the memories….. I learned to type on a manual typewriter, before they had lift-off correction tape or white-out. If I made a mistake, it was either start over, or try to rub out the mistake with an abrasive version of rubber erasor that we used back then. New technology came along and swallowed up the old-fashioned typewriter.
So this is where the term “eat those words” came from.
I learned on an old black Underwood that very much was styled like a model T, sitting high off the table with metal letters and you could see the table top below the letters. Since joining gocomics, my typing speed has increased dramatically.

RMLEON No white-out? Come on! The USMC ordered 100 cases of the stuff back in the 60s when I became a typist.

I remember typing class. I didn’t do well. Then we moved to typing triplicate copies with carbon paper. I was able to make three times the mistakes.
