Hey Dry come on down!! We have cooled off into the lower 60’s and at least we don’t have to watch as we walk. I hated that about winter.

Your welcome Lonewolf. Tina is doing well. She’s getting to be her old self. Thank you for asking:-)))

Fellow Baby, I went to a different Kroger today (actually about a mile or so closer). Looking for Boarshead horseraddish (the best I’ve had so far) I saw staring me in the face Inglehoffer Extra Hot Horseraddish. Picked up 2 jars. I have seen & bought other Inglehoffer products, like the stone-ground mustard that I love, but it’s the first time I’ve seen the extra-hot. The other Korger I normally go has the horseraddish sauce, which I don’t like - no matter who makes it.

I’m having Roast Beast tonight. Also a (very) small amount in a Bloody Caesar also adds some nice flavor.

Fellow Baby you are making me hungry! I’ll be there in what 3 hours? By plane of course!

Gold’s makes an Extra Hot Horseradish, but you may not have that brand. out there. It’s hot and good, but I prefer Inglehoffer as well. I thought Boarshead was a brand that only Giant/Martins carried. Didn’t know Kroeger carried it. Do you have Piggly Wiggly’s out there. I loved that grocery store, I miss it!

Fellow Baby, I haven’t seen Golds down her - just a few worthless brands (in my opinion). And I always thought Boarshead was exclusive to Kroger. I was even buying Boarshead deli meats in Dallas - but only saw it at Kroger. Perhaps they are sold exclusively in one grocer in each market. I have not seen seen a Pigly Wiggly down here. As Carmy would have known, H-E-B is the other grocer down here (As well as the Wal-Mart Supercenters). Dallas, though, has Albertson’s and Tom Thumb.

Yes carmy had mentioned HEB. She did a lot of shopping on base, also. I used to love the PX. There was another grocery chain I liked, Food Lion I believe it was. I remember when I left home and moved to NC. there was an A & P right up the street from me. It made me feel at home, because I was homesick at first and finding the A & P was a real thrill for me! LOL! And I avoid Wal-Mart unless I absolutely positively have to.

The best horseradish by far, and I have tried any I can find is Marina. I think I may have mentioned it in the past. It is kept in the cooler sections of a grocery store. I do not think HEB has it as I had to buy Boar’shead, which isn’t as hot. I think Marina replaced Maria’s which I used to buy, but can no longer find. It doesn’t matter as Marina is every bit as good.

Fellow Baby, I haven’t seen an A&P since I left Quebec. We had Safeway in Edmonton.

cleo, I haven’t seen Marina in any of the places I’ve shopped. I don’t even think I saw it when looking online for a source.

This wouldn’t be the only place anyone’s gotten off-topic, Sonof TheBeach. You obviously haven’t been reading Calvin & Hobbes of late or even Overboard, just to name a few. It happens and will continue to happen with some of the great people here.
