@ noicantspell (happy,happy,joy,joy!) The Pineapple Refrigerator Cheesecake was so-o-o-o good!!! It was the perfect dessert after a big meal, and it is now in the permanent recipe file!!! Thank you so much for sharing it! I’m looking forward to trying different variations, but I know the original pineapple will always be my favorite!

Me, too. The power had just come on, I think, right before her last comment here. I’m hoping it’s a computer issue or she’s perhaps busier than usual, and not a health issue (though, I can’t help thinking that…).

I don’t think that Penny has ever really played before. Yesterday I picked up ome of Cleo’s old rubber balls and tossed it and she ran after it but did not know what tom do with it when she reached the ball. I urged her to pick it up and bring it to me. I did this twice and vote times she just looked at me and walked away. On the third try and after every other toss from that point on, she would pick the ball up bring it to me and drop it at my feet. I thing that she is a smart little dog. Also, yesterday I believe that she was starting to like the idea of being with us. She had almost a blank look for the first days, now she is smiling and starting to show some personality.

That’s good, cleo. I knew she’d come around eventually.

Good day to all you CD kids. I hope everyone is having a great day..So the beach is one big cat box? Yuck!! Good thing I only get there every few years. Maybe by the next time I do this memory will have faded..Cleo I’m glad to hear that Penny is starting to come out of her shell. By next week you guys will have a new routine and a new happier life. The joys of discovery with a new dog are endless and again, I think Penny is one lucky dog.

And now Mike Wallace (60 Minutes) has died.

Thanks for all your good wishes on Penny. I think that our play time yesterday brought Penny around because she did something I doubt she has done much of in the past.

Today was not the greatest of days. Ernie and I were out walking Max, and the toe of my sneaker caught on a branch that then got caught in a crack in the sidewalk and down I went, smashing both knees, my right hand into the sidewalk cement and my face into the hard dirt. I thought I shattered everything, broke my nose and knocked out all my teeth…I was sure that blood would be gushing out and I didn’t even want to take my hands from my face! Well, I was indeed very lucky. Both the replacement knee and the other that needs to be replaced next year survived — just skinned knees (haven’t skinned my knees since I was 10!). My nose is slightly swollen and sore, but I think, OK. No missing or broken teeth. And, only the base of my right thumb and wrist are what might be a problem. I can barely move my thumb, and if it gets any worse, I’ll get an x-ray. All in all, things could have been so much worse, so I am grateful (although I would have preferred not falling at all!) So, I am now going to take a pain pill and toddle off to bed! I’m sure to be very sore tomorrow…
