I almost picked the “bunny on the moon” yesterday for my sign-off!!!!! What a coincidence (great minds think alike and all that…). Then, I spotted the koala and couldn’t resist! BOTH were adorable, huh?

I’ll be out gardening today. I call it therapy, but at least I get paid for it instead of the other way around.

My mom’s uncle had a heart attack this morning. His second in two years. He is 89. I was going to go up to my mom’s town to rendezvous with him and two cousins, my sister and BIL and mom.

Now I’m going up to be with my mom in case it turns out bad. Even if he lives, he can’t make the trip from Pennsylvania to Canada now. :-(

Good morning CD kids. No coffee would be a very bad thing indeed...noicantspell sorry to hear of your gremlin issues yesterday. I feel for you. In the past 2 years we have replaced the fridge, dishwasher and the A coil in the heat pump. Now the washing machine is on the fritz. Uuggghhh! I really hope you and your mom have a better day today..Another record breaking day of heat here. Maybe we will spend it a t the pool.

I don’t know, Shika. Once you get up a good head of steam you can be just as chatty or more so than the rest of us. Unfortunately, it was well past my bed time so I didn’t get to see it until early this morning. I didn’t have much time to enjoy it either.

I needed to see my favorites and be on my merry way to another day in paradise.

(Mt. Tom Summit House, Holyoke, MA — my father was 12 when he watched it burn in 1929)

re: above postcard — Mt. Tom is between the cities of Holyoke and Easthampton. The Summit House was at the very top of the mountain (over 1200 ft.) and visible for miles around. People made day trips up there by train, and there were even overnight accomodations.On his 1899 visit, President McKinley declared the view from Mt. Tom “the most beautiful mountain out look in the whole world.” Now, there are only communication towers there. (I have a collection of Summit House memoribilia that was my father’s.)

Oh Shika I won’t use it for awhile, and that’s not the one I meant. Check yesterday the rabbit on the moon.
