Hope you’re all recuperated from the Ballard Halloween Bash this weekend. It was a great success (with only one arrest for disturbing the peace!). Loved your costume!
Thanks, everybody, for all your good wishes last night. They must have helped, because so far, at least, I’m feeling better. Hopefully, I’m not speaking too soon….
It’s interesting that Jones said that if any GM had done what he’d done in his place, he would have fired him. I’d love to see Jones unceremoniously dump himself. He should keep his nose out of the day to day operations and just sign the checks.
JP Steve, you have to get used to Dry. She;s known for being FEISTY! And Grog calls a spade a spade. So it just looks like they are fighting.
Now me, I can’t always tell, so I think that I’ve upset one of them, but I’ve learned not to be so sensitive. I call a spade a club and whack them with it if they get out of hand. (Hee-hee!)
Fat chance of that happening, Fellow Baby. As much as I want it to happen, it unfortunately won’t happen until he’s dead. But it wouldn’t surprise me if he still got in the way from the grave.
Shika yes Fellow Baby and I are talking about that pointy pig skin thing again! And cleo is talking about a similar, in a different vein, oh never mind! Don’t want to get flagged!
Jerry is an idiot that had enough money to buy a football team. Too bad he doesn’t know how to run one! Most people in authority delegate, he is all about him and afraid to trust anyone else, even though he knows as much about football as I do about performing brain surgery.
Fellow Baby, I don’t think anyone’s stood up to Jones since Jimmy Johnson left. They have no say over player personnel. If they did, I don’t think Romo would still be there. He’s there because Jones likes him. Under Jimmy Johnson, he would have been history a long time ago.
A second teamer playing in the place of Emet in a game the Cowboys had well in hand fumbled the ball once. He wasn’t on the roster the following year.
Shika, I’ve got a Habs collection that includes the final game of a Habs/Leafs game from Maple Leaf Garden. I think it was from 1960 and the Habs won 4-0. The game was in bw it was so old – but I think largely intact. I’m glad that’s part of the collection too, because there were some great players on that team that I’d never seen play. Doug Harvey, the “Rocket” and Jacques Plante.
So who is winning this dead end game of Monday Night Football? Haven’t checked. I guess it is turning political too. My the times they have changed! :-(
Shika, there’s always something that gets me to drooling on that show. There are a wide variety of eateries so there’s something for everyone’s taste buds even though many items may not work for your diet or high blood pressure or cholesterol or what ever you may or may not have problems with.
There’s a lot of stuff I drool over that would not be wise for me to eat.
JP Steve YOU SHOULD JOIN US MORE OFTEN! Me and Grog/Fellow Baby to me have a lot of similar interests and all is well! Shouting (BIG LETTERS, ETC) I guess can appear as yelling and fighting to some, but to some of those of us, it just means we are excited and discussing things as we would if we were face to face, no meanness, just excited. I don’t know if explained that right, but that is my opinion from personal experience and watching others interact as well!
AND YOU REALLY SHOULD MAKE MORE APPEARANCES SIR! It’s ALWAYS nice to see you! :-)
There recently was the big scare that the Edmonton Oilers were considering moving to Seattle. It was meant to scare the fans and politicos in Edmonton. even Gretsky came to Seattle.
I’m thinking maybe it might have been a kitchen fire, cleo, but I was not dressed to go out there and find out. I got to admit I was worried not just for my neighbor but what might happen if there was a serious fire. There were a few vehicles out there with their loud lights flashing and eventually an ambulance showed, though I don’t think anyone required any serious medical attention that I could see.
Surprisingly, this event did not draw lots of outdoor spectators, unlike 2 Aprils ago when almost every police car in League City and surrounding areas was on my street for a murder suicide.

I thought only cats had nine lives, am I mistaken?
@StelBel – are you feeling better? If you have the same cold my husband has, my guess us no. He’s been hacking away for a week.

JP Steve, no problems here.

Shikamoo Premium Member about 12 years ago
Hi Dry! Are you two talking about that pointy pig skin thing again? lol
Dry and Dusty Premium Member about 12 years ago
What party Shika? I am just getting back here, looks like Fellow Baby is as well, and EVERYONE ELSE HAS GONE MISSING!
GROG Premium Member about 12 years ago
Fat chance of that happening, Fellow Baby. As much as I want it to happen, it unfortunately won’t happen until he’s dead. But it wouldn’t surprise me if he still got in the way from the grave.

Which explains why I can move around my house so well in the dark. But I still can’t type in the dark….most of the time.
Shikamoo Premium Member about 12 years ago
Grog some bats see well in the dark, but other bats are blind as a bat and don’t see a thing!

Shikamoo Premium Member about 12 years ago
StelBel must have taken cold medication and fallen asleep. She has posted great photos tonight.
GROG Premium Member about 12 years ago
Shikamoo Premium Member about 12 years ago
Don’t get smart with me Grog. You know who the Leafs are! You know, the hockey team who hasn’t won the Stanley Cup since 1965 or some unheard of time?
Shikamoo Premium Member about 12 years ago
Yeah, yeah. Root for your home town team. Real original. lol
Oh, wait, I guess that’s what I am doing too, lol
Dry and Dusty Premium Member about 12 years ago
The Leafs? The ones that blow by in the wind? And fade away!
GROG Premium Member about 12 years ago

GROG Premium Member about 12 years ago
Just to name a few.
GROG Premium Member about 12 years ago
I’m watching DD&D.
I knew there were going to be political overtones to the game. That’s why I’m watching DD&D
Shikamoo Premium Member about 12 years ago
DD & D?
The Rocket I know. I’ve seen clips of him playing. In b/w.
Shikamoo Premium Member about 12 years ago
I didn’t know that football could be political too. What a shame.
Shikamoo Premium Member about 12 years ago
My BIL and his sons were Habs fans. But aren’t they called something else now? All I know is that they root for Montreal. They all hate T.O. anyways.
GROG Premium Member about 12 years ago
Yes both candidates have spots in the half time show I believe.
I’m always explaining this so I guess I’m doing it….one….more …..time! D iners, D rivins & D ives
Shikamoo Premium Member about 12 years ago
@ Dry. Funny. Since when did you dis our home town team? Huh? :-)
GROG Premium Member about 12 years ago
I chose Edmonton over T.O.
Shikamoo Premium Member about 12 years ago
Opps. Maybe I should write that down Grog. Ask Dry how good my memory is.
Any good eats tonight?
GROG Premium Member about 12 years ago
I think it’s time for me to turn out the lights. Well the lights are out already, so at least turn off the TV.
Shikamoo Premium Member about 12 years ago
Shikamoo Premium Member about 12 years ago
Edmonton had the Great One. I think. That’s all I know about them The Edmonton Oilers.
Shikamoo Premium Member about 12 years ago
Good Night Grog I should get to bed too, to make up for the hour I lost this morning.

Same here. Sometimes I eat it anyways. If I am told to stop eating something, then maybe I’ll think about it.
Shikamoo Premium Member about 12 years ago
lol JP Steve. I used to feel that way about some cooking programs. That’s why I don’t watch them.
Shikamoo Premium Member about 12 years ago
And on that note, lights out, and so am I.
JP Steve Premium Member about 12 years ago

GROG Premium Member about 12 years ago

GROG Premium Member about 12 years ago
Well, lets see if I can sleep now.
JP Steve Premium Member about 12 years ago
I can’t respond to anybody tonight, so:
Me:That is, there was a (probably) real bomb found yesterday — today’s scare was based on heightened alarm.
Grog:It was an elevated train.
