Re: Disappearing comment;Note: If you type your comment in Word or copy a quote from another comment that contains three periods … (horizontal ellipsis) the comment will disappear (surprise!).
When you paste into the comment box place the cursor after last period and Backspace once if all three disappear it was an ellipsis.
Now you can type three periods and submit. And, hopefully, if your comment has no other special characters (anything NOT in the ASCII Character Set) your comment will post.
Stel ol Bel, Dry , maybe you guys were kidding , but here it is again, breaking the record for the shortest time period between when a strip is run and then rerun
@x_Tech: You’ve rediscovered the fact that non-ASCII characters can do undesirable things online. That’s only been true for about the last thirty years. Sometime in the next century I expect it to go away. You’ll probably be around then. I won’t.
I got the photos that I posted last night directly from Bing Image Search and did nothing to modify them, unlike this one that I did modify in the Windows Paint Program (I “cut out” and added the collar, and then the bowtie to an unadorned woodchuck), so it took 3 photos to make the one very dapper woodchuck! lol:
As you may be reading in the comments, things are getting increasingly challenging re: comment posting and copying and pasting. But, so far, posting pics and links is still pretty simple and straight forward. Anytime you’re ready to do that (I know you’re quite busy right now to think about it), just let us know. I can help you if you’re on Windows, but if you’re using Mac/iPad, x_Tech would know better than I! I’m just not familiar with anything but Windows.
Good evening kids. Thanks for the re-post nighthawks. Of all your strips, I like this one the best. It reminds me of my Bruno who passed long ago. I found many things through the years stashed everywhere, including the couch. One time we gave him cinnamon rolls and imagine my surprise to find one stashed in a box of paperwork about 6 months later. Still miss that crazy pup. :-)
I am now using my new iPad. I am going to go pro again today. I dropped pro before because I was having problems with it and my laptop. Don’t think that will be a problem now…
Stel, I AM LITERALLY ROFLMAO! Remind Ernie, a subtle condescending look should go a long way!
How far are you from Rye Beach, NH? And Portsmouth, just a skip up the road from Rye. I saw the snow count there is to be at least 22 inches, and the surge, well …..
Thanks for welcoming me to the family. I love this comic, all your wonderful comments and artwork, but especially the camaraderie and candid attitudes.
win you are of course welcome here! And I find it fascinating that you are where you are! How many hours time difference is that? Glad to have you here!
Welcome back to the land of no pop ups happy. When you get the link and picture thing figured out on the iPad, could you share. I’ve tried to figure it out but can’t seem to warp my head around it.
Stel, we spent an evening at Rye Beach at a great restaurant called Saunders and walked along the beach, from North Beach, I believe up to Rye and had dinner. We dropped our son off at Phillips Exeter Academy for a summer internship through Cornell University. We stayed in Portsmouth. WHIRLWIND TRIP, LET ME TELL YOU! One day going up, next day taking oldest to Exeter and getting him settled and then checking out the beach area, then back the third day! And let me tell you, THE DRIVERS IN CONNECTICUT ARE NUTS!
Stel, if he ignores the looks, you need to do something DRASTIC, LIKE TAKE AWAY HIS REMOTE CONTROL, SET HIS COMPUTER UP SO HE CAN’T ACCESS IT, ETC! Drastic times call for DRASTIC MEASURES! LOL!
Of course by this time, all the bread, milk, water and toilet paper is gone, as are the flashlights, batteries, radios and GENERATORS!
Good move happy, it really isn’t expensive, and I for one, think it is very well worth it. Of course, untl the clitches occur, but I think they have fixed the complaints of the past few days as far as posting, etc.
Fellow Baby, I have to laugh at your remark about the winters! Youngest, now 22, wondered why we never get these big snowfalls. When he was about 3 our front porch roof collapsed because of the blizzard we got that year! That was about a foot! Then in ’78, way before kids, hubby and I owned an MG. It snowed so much in that blizzard, we lived in an apt at the time. The MG was parked right our front. We had a general idea of where it was, but it took forever to find it and dig it out! LOL! As Bill McNeil (Phil Hartman) would say from “News Radio” GOOD TIMES, GOOD TIMES!
And then the snow plow would come by and bury it again, Fellow Baby. But after those years of heavy snowfalls where the snow banks were so high you couldn’t throw the snow over the banks things got a little tamer in Montreal. It became more prone to ice storms. even though it did snow – but rarely dumped more than 8 inches past the 70’s. Still, I dreaded winters and one of the worst winter ice storms we ever had.
Fellow Baby, never stayed at a Motel 6, I like higher end places, not real high end, but stuff like Courtyard Marriott, Hilton Gardens, Holiday Inn, but that guy that does the Voiceover for that commercial, his voice is quite soothing and makes you want to stay there I think! :-D

I do not envy you, StelBel. It reminds my of my youth in the 60’s and early 70’s. Man, did I grow to loathe winter after those years.
