Landscaping… is that what they’re calling it now?

Hmmm… I suppose the sort of person who hates a breeze would also be the most likely to call a pile of dirt “landscaping.”

Kinda reminds me of my Dad, actually….

He wasn’t so extreme, of course.

I don’t think he actually disliked natural, outdoor breezes….

and he liked things tidy, so I doubt he’d have approved of “Jacob’s Mountain,”

but indoors, he hated air blowing from fans and open windows.

And when he traveled he sent me postcards of hotels and modern buildings… no local scenery.

I asked, but he said “Seen one tree, seen ’em all.”

    I bet Jacob agrees.

If Jacob lives down Corpus Christi way he’s getting a bit more that a breeze. And all that “landscaping” is going to end up in his living room.

    X_Tech….

Are you back for a recheck, too?

I just took one last look….

But there’s still no Saturday puzzle…

So I guess we’re out of a job, for now.

I suppose it doesn’t matter if your solution is late….

but by the time I get back to do my side-by-side, maybe no one will want it…. sniffle…

I WILL make one when I get here, just in case.

Anyhow, this gives me the opportunity to say that Friday’s animation (still running, as we speak) is one of my favorites.

JP Steve…. (and Stel) … me too. I kept thinking that bulb would light up.

But we should have known it couldn’t, you see… cos he hadn’t yet invented the switch.

beware of differences 6 thorough 9——those are HIGHLY technical!

Global Climate change rears it’s ugly head this morning!—-

a cold wave in August has plunged Cleveland’s temperatures to near-freezing!

Undaunted, and undeterred, Claude has rummaged through the closet for his

winter outerwear, and forges ahead with his daily walk with Cleo

    THE COLD SCALAWAG’S

(Get it? Old? Cold in Cleveland? – I crack myself up)

    Humorously Fabricated

    !! HURRICANE HARVEY SPECIAL !!

    Saturday LATE PUZZLE Non Solution

       1.  Top panel: Claude is thinking no one will buy Nighthawks’ lame excuse for Saturday puzzle tardiness. Bottom panel: Claude is thinking Trump will pardon Nighthawks so its no big deal. #MAGA

2-5.  Top: Cleo is worried that The Cold Scalawag will not have time to finish his Saturday LATE PUZZLE Non Solution before he has to leave for regularly scheduled bike ride. Bottom: Cleo was right to worry.

6-9.  Highly technical. Only Nighthawks, who posts late Saturday puzzles, goes on and on with lame excuses that nobody believes, doth protest too much with multiple blame-shifting posts yada yada yada, and then riffs on his (famously humble) reader’s wildly popular and greatly anticipated solution schtick, would understand.

I’m glad I get up later than everyone else – the puzzle was here and waiting for me. I miss the side-by-side, though, Miss Sunshine. I only got 7 and I blame Susan.

Even though Susan hasn’t yet posted the side-by-side I am posting the solution to today’s Cleo & Co. puzzle.

    OK … I DID make the side-by-side, as promised…

Also as promised, it was too late… considering that no one has even commented since x_Tech posted the solution gif….

    Thanks, X!

And I STILL can’t post it, cos not only have I been losing my internet, but PostImage has been returning an error message when I try to upload it….

Anybody know what “Invalid JSON response from server” means? I sure don’t!

So.. maybe later…. or maybe I’ll have to save it for some future time when this puzzle is re-run. Right.

PerkyCat…. but I tried so hard!

    I stayed up till eleveny-seventy-seven and a half, waiting for a puzzle…

I could have made a side-by-side of the Friday strip, but it would be identical on both sides. (Easier to solve, though… ZERO differences!)

    Please forgive me!

    Nighthawks….

    Eleveny-seventy-seven and a HALF!

Alexi… Mrs Higglepooder is a very grouchy old lady, and yes, a creation of someone in the forum….

I believe Last Rose, at least a year ago.

People often misspell it Higgenpooder, Higglepooter, etc, as they all forget what’s “correct”.

As for your post being removed… I’m not surprised!

I myself left because my stomach couldn’t handle accidentally re-reading the words in that URL, much less clicking on it.

When it was the last comment, it was “featured,” so the page kept scrolling past it.

Nor did I like reading your description today.

PLEASE remember… we come here for a gentle dog cartoon… NOT expecting to be assaulted by disgusting things.

To someone ill or grieving… or simply having morning coffee… it’s neither funny nor cute.

There are sites, I’m sure, for that, but I stay away from them.

Thank you in advance… I hope.

Okay, yet again I’m learning something new here! I always thought that a “flan” was an English dessert/sweet/pudding — something to serve between the trifle and the spotted dick!
