You can stay upstairs with Ted …. at least I think that’s where he’ll be….
or put on a costume, and come on down to the living room with Eloise and Stryker.
If you don’t have a costume, Eloise has some extras, and you can probably borrow one.
But if you’re going to be hanging around on Ballard St, or even move here, you’ll probably want a few of your own, for all the events and clubs you might be enjoying.
The very best ones come from StelBel’s (yes, our very own StelBel’s) Costume Annex….
located right next to SCHAABS…. her busy Canine Hotel and Antique Browser Store…
in between that and her Wonderful World of Inflatables.
What? You thought making a few posters was all that keeps her busy?
Meanwhile… one reason Ted is balking….
aside from his dislike of crowded parties in his own home….
is what Heloise wants him to wear.
She’s wearing a glorious garden hat-o-plenty….
and a magical black cape….
both signifying her horticultural wizardry…
and Stryker gets to be the Pope of Dogdom!
Why does she always picture him as a sad clown?
Maybe if she wanted him to dress like a Western hero….
Ted, they’re having plenty of fun without you, just turn around or you will be a party=pooper.
Stel, that’s a funny poster! I was just thinking about getting that disc from Netflix (the hoomin version, of course. They don’t deal with Basset films). Now that Sirius-XM has a Beatles channel, they are on my mind a lot more.
Bad enough that the Beatles copied The Bassets, then they got copied by The Monkees. I think some of those guys are working at the Tiki these days.
Cute translation into a great United Bassets production, Stel. You sure come up with some clever ideas! I wonder if Ed Sullivan will have The Bassets on his show next week?

Oooh…. The Bassets!
Wow…
This brings back so many youthful memories!
Nice job, Stel!
Those hounds were never still, were they, in this playful film….
Jumping, chasing, running about the screen in a mad frolic.
The way their fur was brushed forward over their eyes set off a whole new style…
Every male dog wanted to be them; every human girl wanted to take one home.
Most of the girls wanted to scratch sweet-faced Pal behind his long ears.
They loved his tenor howl, his soft, amber fur, and his huge droopy eyes…
But, of course, I wanted to go for long walks with the smartest dog, Jo-Jo, with his funny tricks and quick barks.
And yes…. the humans did try…..

But it just wasn’t the same.
