And speaking of dog and man finding each other ………………………. Cleo and Claude! Cleo likes going for walks, and Claude likes taking her for walks. They’re a perfect match. Unfortunately, Claude didn’t hear Cleo’s warning about the banana peel. But she didn’t just run off and leave him to suffer alone. She asked after his well-being, and accompanied him home where he can hunker down in his safe space for the duration.
I love Friday the 13th. The bad luck tends to happen every other day. The 13th is the one day I can say Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead and not worry about it.
My favorite part was the Cartoonist’s Special Basset Bark Balloon Translation Service.
No, wait, my favorite part was KRAK!
No, wait, my favorite part was ★★ & (what’s the html code for lightning bolt?)
No, wait, my favorite part was the off stage “Meow!”
No, wait, my favorite part was the way the ball thingy on Claude’s hat changed from yellowy to purply between panels 3 and 4.
No, wait, my favorite part was the cartoonist helpfully directing our attention to the banana peel (apparently believing the average C&C reader doesn’t have the intellectual capacity to recognize the set up for the cartoonist’s oldest classic slapstick gaffe).

Maybe it’s time for Claude to visit his Optometrist before the next Friday the 13th.
Looks like he’s going to be limping for the next 24 hours!!! Or YEARS! I’ll bet we can come back to today’s ‘toon in a couple years and he’ll still be limping home. Poor Claude.
Aha! A classic Cleo & Co. from when Cleo was still learning to talk like a human bean. (I wonder if she learned from watching Mr. Rogers on TV like Opus did?)

Welcome, everybody…..
Please, come on in and post your comments for ….
the April 13th 2018 “CLEO and COMPANY”Which you can read on Sherpa:
http://www.comicssherpa.com/site/feature?uc_comic=cscwy
Don’t go into the living room, though….
Shhh, as you pass that door… or rather, the archway.
We don’t want to wake up Edwin and Striker, and waste any of their precious supply of life force..
But the house has a very comfortable, big kitchen… Millie has kindly made us some cookies, and little sandwiches….
and coffee, I see…. and there’s hot water for tea….
and even some white wine.
Thank you, Millie!
I was really tired last night, and I went to bed early….
but I saw Rotifer’s post about being born on Friday the 13th,
and in my sleepy brain I processed it as today being his birthday…. cos it’s Friday the 13th.
Almost baked you a cake, Rotifer!
Till I realised that was dopey on my part.
So… I guess Friday the 13th IS unlucky for anyone who was wanting some cake!
But don’t worry… I brought a key lime pie….
and Millie says half her cookies are chocolate chip, and half are oatmeal.
A very merry Unbirthday to all!

I like the last panel of C&C, with Claude’s animated limp on home.

That was very considerate of Claude to draw all the bad luck to himself in order to spare Cleo. (I’m sure that’s why he did it).

Somehow, just from running into a pole and falling on his back,
Claude’s jacket seems to have tattered into little strips.
(I doubt losing his footing and twisting his ankle contributed much.)
I thought it must be very poor material…..
then I noticed the brand… it’s The East Face.
Claude!
Did you get mixed up and go to Rick’s Sporting Goods again?

This is the perfect Friday the 13th comic. Shows how idiotic superstitions are.
