    Hi Dennis… and Farside…. and everybody….

    so sorry I’m late.

    Has everybody already started?

We’re here to post our comments on

the June 23rd  2018 “CLEO and COMPANY”

    after reading it on Sherpa….

    http://www.comicssherpa.com/site/feature?uc_comic=cscwy

I’d say Glenn is being a bit hard on poor Buddy.

I mean, I’m sure Buddy knows exactly where Indonesia is….

what he doesn’t know, is how to point it out on a globe.

This human toy thingy is slippery, and round, with no place to sink your teeth….

and if you did sink your teeth, somebody would probably complain.

It spins around, and you can’t dig in your claws to stop it….

and what’s worse is, unlike in real life, all the countries smell the same.

“If indonesia on this map ball thingy really smelled like indonesia, " thinks Buddy, “I could find it in a New-York-steak minute!”

Speaking of New York steaks (says Susan, mistress of the weird segué), let’s head on over to the Tiki…

Steak sandwiches are on special, and so is steak and eggs.

(Of course there are many other options including vegetarian.)

We’ve got some hungry work to do tonight…

    It’s puzzle night!

    Tonight’s … er…today’s… puzzle seems to be a non-Hopper painting…

    Nighthawks didn’t label it… but I do believe it’s

“Tornado over Kansas”, by John Steuart Curry from 1930.

    (Right, Nighthawks?)

And I’ll be right back with your side-by-side.

Listen to Dennis, you guys… grab the chicken!

I’d better post the solution to today’s Cleo & Co. puzzlebefore it gets sucked up by that twister.

No peeking until you save the chicken.

If the globe was “scratch-n-sniff”, Buddy would find Indonesia in a trice.

Yeah, I found ten differences too.

These “mistakes” have become a sort of Nighthawks puzzle signature, you know.

It reminds me of Tibetan, Navajo and Persian weavers….

living worlds apart, yet they all put deliberate small mistakes into their rugs…

the idea being that only the Creator (whichever one fits in their beliefs) can weave a perfect rug.

In order to keep their own egos from believing they can do it too, they deliberately sabotage the attempt.

I’m sure that’s just what Nighthawks has in mind.

    BTW… to newcomers and those who’ve forgotten….

we’ve agreed, pretty please, not to give spoilers till everyone has had a chance to solve the puzzle….

That’s why x_Tech’s solution is hidden till you click a link,

and he used to warn people not to use Neil Wick’s “GC Links” if they haven’t solved it.

It gets a bit tedious to keep repeating or reading the same warning…. but it still stands.

But since it’s already been mentioned….

    I don’t think two dog spots count….

cos if they did, it would open a debate about everything that changes in pairs or multiples.

I did wonder whether a different two would count as one…

    but I don’t really think so…

and I’m not mentioning where before tomorrow.

And Liverlips….yes…. in my first post, I agreed with you about the lack of proper scent on the map.

Yahoo! I got ten! Yippee! With so much going on in that painting, it was quite the challenge. Maybe that’s why I found them all.

    Great fun. Thanks nighthawks!
