Larry says, “Huh?” I didn’t know that we were playing.

Roberta still sees Larry through the distorted prism of love.

Not to say that’s a bad thing, especially if you are Larry.

Cleo has awesome dexterity for a basset. Somehow, I think that once the novelty wears off, the desire to wolf it down all at once will prevail. Still, soy sauce may well improve kibble. Or try chili-garlic sauce, Cleo!

It’s not all bad Claude. If Cleo can eat her kibble without making a mess and getting it on her ears, the walls, and the floor like most bassets, you really should humor her just a little bit.

Fetch that soy sauce and make it snappy!

Susan, are we meeting for games night at Larry and Roberta’s? Or should we come to the bakery?

Looks like some folks have not changed their clocks!

    Yawn…. OK, OK…. I’m here, already….

A person who lost an hour’s sleep… and even more, cos she had to get up earlier than usual after a night with an hour-long hole in it…..

Ought to be forgiven a little moment of eye-resting, I  think.

But yes… sorry, Dennis, about the late notice…

we are indeed heading over to Roberta and Larry’s….

to discuss the March 11th  2019 “CLEO and COMPANY”

    Brand new, today! On Sherpa

    http://www.comicssherpa.com/site/feature?uc_comic=cscwy

I was, of course, expecting Cleo to say “Chop chop!”, as she “clak-clak”-ed her chopsticks.

A fine old pidgin expression for “Hurry hurry!” or “Quick quick!”

From what I know (though etymologies do seem to change through the years due to research and/or dispute….)

“Chopsticks” too, comes from that same “chop” … as the words in Chinese mean, or once meant, “Quick boys.”

And “chop suey” for Chinese cooks in California quickly throwing a bunch of leftover vegetables together in a pan,

and putting soy sauce on it, cos Gold Rush miners didn’t know Chinese food…

but were hungry, and would eat anything and pay big bucks.

Your language trivia for the night. You’re welcome.

Roberta is making grilled cheese sandwiches on really nice 9 grain bread… with or without ham, as you like.

She was going to make tuna salad, and maybe a jello mold…. but Larry, you know, he changed the whole game.

I’m bringing a big pot of my home made tomato bisque (soup)… and a couple of blueberry pies.

If anybody would like to bring some salad… or… wow… celery stalks stuffed with peanut butter… it would really hit the spot.

I had a busy Sunday and not much time to plan.

    Thanks.

    Re: Yesterday’s Cleo

Here’s a pic of the anti-squirrel gun that Cleo pulled out of hammerspace. BTW they are Bofors.

Claude better bring something to drink as well as turning on the TV or he’ll lose about twenty pounds running back and forth getting things done for Cleo.

I’d love to see Cleo eat some of Susan’s tomato bisque using those chop sticks! Love her outfit. (Cleo’s, not Susan’s) Although, maybe she can whip up an Asian outfit to match Cleo’s.

MMM came home from the hospital yesterday afternoon. Hurray!!!!! The doc says it could take 6 to 8 weeks for his lungs to clear! I am sooooooooooooo looking forward to NOT going anywhere for a while!
