Ouch, my tush gets sore just thinking about that landing!
It ain’t the tush that gets sore.
Uh oh. I don’t think the hedge or his - um - parts will ever be the same again.
Never interrupt a man’s fantasy life.
Ah, Bassettown. The one where the family tree is a bit…um…“twisted”.
“Forget it, Jake. It’s Bassettown.”
Naturally, one assumes that Cleo played the female lead in Bassettown. As tragic a role as she has ever done.
Welcome, everybody!
Another great poster from StelBel to talk about today,
in the April 11th 2019 “CLEO and COMPANY”
Take a look on Sherpa…

(And BTW… This time, I’m glad you’re already here, and not trying to find your way from Sherpa…..
ahem…. StelBel…. cough cough…. Pssst….. STEL…. 2009 )
Anyway…. Bassettown… wow.
A complicated plot if ever I saw one.
A mysterious beauty…. a hard-boiled detective, a murder…. unscrupulous city officials, dead bassets buying land…. more murders….
An Art Deco noir touch of ladies hats and men’s fedoras and cigarette smoke…. it’s one long game of “Who Do You Trust?”
I understood it better the second time I saw it…. sort of.
There was a human version, too….. it’s even murkier cos, you know, without furry coats, it’s harder to tell people apart.

I’d comment on the Ballard St toon, as well….
but I…… I…. just…. can’t ….. watch…
He’s pretending he’s the Waco Kid.
Jump, Neal, jump!
Looks like a good movie to watch. Good thing I didn’t comment where it said to comment. It said to go to 2008.
It’s volunteer appreciation month. Maybe Cleo and Co.® could do a Dogtown / Best Friends tribute.
Save them all!
I remember this movie. Great acting. Probably got lots of awards. I always get a kick in watching John Husky have an acting role instead of directing. What a talented doggie.
Stel is pretty dern talented herself. Great poster.
Now I’ve seen everything I think! Time to do something with Neal!
Good afternoon Balladeers and Miss Susan and Stel!
