Then you start thinking about the ‘hereafter’.

You walk into a room and say “Now, what am I here after”.

If you have children under the age of 3, they call it “momnesia” because taking care of your kids takes up so much of your brain, there isn’t room for much else.

    Don’t worry; there won’t be 22 differences like in the urls… I guess…

Look on the bright side, Clara. It could be the evil cat instead of Cleo.

Welcome, newcomers, Cleo fans and puzzlers….

We’ve got a new puzzle to solve and comment on

in the August 24th  2019 “CLEO and COMPANY”

If you like, you can use Tigressy’s link to find it on Sherpa

(I don’t know what you mean, Tigressy, about 22 differences in the URL…)

Or just go straight to my side-by-side version….

Which some people think makes the differences a bit easier to see:

    https://i.postimg.cc/LX0Z7FwG/Cleo-nine-differences-Aug-24th-19.png

Your mileage, as they say, may vary.

    Which reminds me…. time for a reminder….

    The puzzle is for fun….

Nobody, certainly not me, keeps a record of who solved it, or who was first, fastest, or most accurate.

Never ever feel bad if think you’re the slowest, if you only found two differences… or if you can’t or just don’t want to solve puzzles at all!

Just enjoy it… or the comic it was based on… or just watching Cleo snoozing, and visiting your Cleo family.

Just imagine Helen trying to solve it….

    after she finds her glasses….

and figures out where she set down her tea…

and remembers the password for her computer….

    and then for GoComics….

and then tries to remember how many years back to go on Ballard Street….

I’m sure you do better than she does!

Great…. another night when GoComics keeps going out on me….

I’ve lost this post twice…. luckily, I copied it so here comes try #3….

I guess I’d better post the semi-anonymous gifmakers solution gif now….

We’re lucky she …or…um…. he, of course…. is stel making us one.

And I’m lucky my last comment posted, and the site seems to be working again.

So here, without….. as I recently saw on a blog (much to my combined amusement and dismay)…. any further “adieu…”

I give you the gift gif:

    https://i.postimg.cc/15DBfPXy/FTD-8-24-2019-AB.gif

    Speaking of “further adieu…” or… let’s not….

Just today, I ran across another favorite web spelling (NOT) in a recipe…

“Remove from the oven, and wala! "

    Wala??!

    I know some people can’t spell… it’s OK.

But why do they copy something from each others posts and blogs without ever wondering what language it’s in, or attempting to look it up?

    Oh… right… they can’t look it up…. not under “W” anyway.

And if they did see “voila” they wouldn’t see the relationship because they’d read it as “VOY-la.”

    Sigh….

Ah… and that sigh reminds me…. because I think I copied it many years ago from Charlie Brown….

Nighthawks…. is that a Peanuts tribute lampshade?

BTW… Farside99 hasn’t commented here for six days, or, according to his profile, anywhere on GoComics….

That’s not terribly long, if he were an intermittent commenter…

but he’s usually here every day, so I just wondered whether anyone had heard him say anything about a trip or an absence.

I do have his email, so I wrote to him tonight.

Jless, OTOH, hasn’t posted now in 20 days.

    Goodness.

Will everybody please get back here!

BTW… I never replied to you, cellardoor, when you posted the link to Jless’ avatar picture….

I feel pretty foolish, cos I thought it was really his picture, and asked whether he was that young.

He was probably laughing cos I didn’t recognise it as generic, and was only pulling my leg when he said yes.

It’s kind of funny that most of the haircutting pages that turned up in your search were in Portuguese.

For all I know, he’s really an 87 year old Portuguese lady, who borrowed that picture from a haircut style book, and not a young guy like I thought….

but I don’t really think so.

    Got nine.

As for Helen, when I was a kid my sister and I would be choking trying keep in the laughter while watching our mom search for her glasses with them pushed up on her forehead.

Oooooooooo. It looks like Clara has redecorated the house. Love the wallpaper, and it looks like they’ve upgraded with a ceiling fan. The only touch of the old is the Big W lamp. (big doubleyouuuuuuuuuuuu)

I’ve gotta run, but since I couldn’t get the side by side to open, I just glanced at the puzzle and will enjoy it with lunch later today.

I’m back. And I just had to do the puzzle. It was fun because I got stuck on #9 for a long while. I used Dennis’ trick of walking away from it and came back and wala, there it was as plain as day.

Looks like a panel from a new strip, Nighthawks. Or is my memory shot again?

Thanks again to Susan for providing us with her Side by Side, and for the Magical appearance of the solution.
