That reminds me of a story a friend told me.
He was in 8th grade and his class was learning about quadrilaterals when one of the students raised his hand and asked, “What if a quadrilateral only had 3 sides?” My friend tried not to laugh as the teacher buried his face in his hands and apologized to the student saying he had “failed him as an educator.”
