Bostonians are difficult to understand. Do they speak English????

To Bostonians the R does not exist. I know a man from Boston and yeah this is exactly right. It’s fun to hear him talk.

Yukoneric, just add back the dropped R to the place(s) in the words that make the most sense.

Here’s a little education for y’all -I live in Ga,lol- Khak is a Persian word for dirt or dust, therefore khaki is the color of dirt -beige or tannish- it also means dusty, so since the color of khaki pants is the color of dirt, the word ‘Khaki” must have been borrowed from the Persian language.

Considering the Bostonian accent, I always wondereed….maybe the guy said the city’s name was really BaRston…and it came out BaHston.

Actually Joe Allen the pronunciation might not come easily for those whose mother tongue is English cause that sound is not in English alphabet.

The “kh” sound is not actually uttered like “k” as in ‘kack-kees’. The sound comes from the bottom of your throat, ‘kh’ like you are clearing your throat or almost like the noise you make when you cough.

All the Rs dropped in Boston are picked up in Rhode Island and added to the ends of words that normally end in A.

Better a Patriots fan than a Jets or Giants fan…or worse yet: a Yankees fan!
