    If you’re a math nerd, you know that Hallowe’en = October 31 = 31 Octal = 25 and that Christmas = December 25 = 25 Decimal = 25

Of course I learned that from Isaac Asimov.

Carrying it a bit further, TruckerRon, since September is base 7, 31 would be decimal 22, which is (in some years) the Autumnal Equinox. November is base 9, so 31 is 28 decimal, which is sometimes Thanksgiving day. Sadly, those are the only numbered months, or we could really waste a whole lot of time and bandwidth on this (as opposed to all the pertinent, meaningful comments that are usually offered up on this site). ;-)

The only new “FoxTrot” strips are the Sunday ones. That’s why the weekday ones are called “Classics”.

The concise answer is “Because 31 OCT = 25 DEC”.

    And 6 x 9 = 42 if you use base 13.
