Calvin and Bambi eyes are like oil and water. Calvin and a flame thrower? Different story altogether.

Calvin’s “Bambi eyes” have always freaked me out, but the idea of them being accompanied by sniffling is even scarier. A very similar joke was used later in Peanuts, when Peppermint Patty made the exact same face at Charlie Brown (stating that she’d probably get better grades if she looked at her teacher like that.) Charlie Brown tells her that she looks fine the ways she is, and she thanks him and says that it would hurt her eyes, anyway. Coincidence? Considering that Schulz was a Calvin and Hobbes reader, I doubt it.

OMG bambie-eyed Calvin!!

Scarey thought for the day: Calvin with a flame thrower. One can only imagine why he wants one.
