    Calvin’s “Bambi eyes” have always freaked me out, but the idea of them being accompanied by sniffling is even scarier. A very similar joke was used later in Peanuts, when Peppermint Patty made the exact same face at Charlie Brown (stating that she’d probably get better grades if she looked at her teacher like that.) Charlie Brown tells her that she looks fine the ways she is, and she thanks him and says that it would hurt her eyes, anyway. Coincidence? Considering that Schulz was a Calvin and Hobbes reader, I doubt it.

    All he really needed was Mom’s Aqua Net. No I did not do that, I actually read the can and asked my parents what all the warnings meant after reading them.
