Looks like Calvin just can’t catch a break. Bet he wishes that there was an outbreak of swine flu so that his school would shut down so that he could go home.
The famouse “Midnight Ride” ?? I remember that ive learnt in the history class.
And it only occured to me in Math classes that being cerebellum fused! lol
The Battle of Lexington (and Concord) Massachusetts was the first battles that started the American Revolutionary War. Any real American SHOULD know that. The battles were a result of the British trying to impose Gun Control on the colonists which was the last straw of many injustices borne by the colonists at the hands of the British occupational forces.
Perhaps Calvin meant “cerebrum”; however, I am pretty sure Bill Watterson meant “cerebellum,” as Watterson never erred in his choice of words. I’d love to ask a neuro doc about this one!
No, I think Calvin was right with cerebellum as it would control his awareness. Either way, forget History, extra points given for knowing his Biology!
Perhaps Calvin should move to the front row and wave his hand wildly when questions are asked. Those are the people teachers usually avoid, since they figure they know the answer. It worked for me, but that was a hundred years ago.
The “Battle of Lexington” was a significant conflict in the American Civil War–if you live in Missouri. For those who live in Kentucky… after Lexington fought, his wife decided she had had enough and left him.
EMET: There’s scientific evidence that the 10 degree backwards movement of shadow- when the sun stood still for Hezikiah’s battle- really happened. It’s somewhere in last years notes on the Old Testament, but I’m not sure if I can put my hand on it. Try to google it.
Ms. Wormwood wouldn’t let him gat away with that anyways.
Maybe she’s referring to the episode where the M5 supercomputer has taken control of the Enterprise, and Commodore Wesley onboard the Lexington orders all remaining ships to destory the Enterprise?
I had a Social Studies teacher that used to do that to me all the time. I got sick of it one day and asked her if she was,”Dim”. I said if I knew the answer I’d have my hand up and to call on someone else. I ran into her sister years later in Swim Club and told her she hated me in school. My ex-teacher remembered me differently though and said I was one of her favorite students!
I had a chemistry teacher in high school who would have us raise our right hand if we knew the answer, and our left if we didn’t. that way, when the principal was observing his class, what he saw was 100% participation.

I hate it when that happens.

I’d say that he definitely blew a fuse when the teacher called on him in the third frame. Love the look on his face. :))

Thought the Battle of Lexington is important and enacted when Calvin gets home and Hobbes jumps him from behind the door.

she didn’t want an answer, she just enjoys the look on Calvins face when caught by supprise.

The Battle of Lexington was also know as the first Dream Game between University of Kentucky Wildcats and the Lousyville Cardinals.

That sum on the blackboard is far too difficult for Calvins’ brains. Mrs. Wormwood should start with much easier ones: 0 + 0.

C’mon Ms. Wormwood. Stop picking on Calvin. You know he doesn’t know the answer… ;-)

LOL! Calvin looks like he stuck his finger into a light socket in the third frame.

To go through life with a ‘fused cerebellum’ is sad, perhaps Hobbes can unfuse it with a screwdriver (sans vodka? I think not).

Calvin got quick and short fuse that goes POOF! His hair singed and his eyes got wide opened. LOLs! It is soooooo hilariously funny!

If you raise your hand all the time and never once get the answer right the teacher will eventually ignore you completely.
Trust me on this, Calvin.

History is much more interesting when you do not HAVE to study it. Check your ancestors.

Just “re-fuse” to answer the question.
