Twenty years and C&H is still the best comic strip ever. I’m so glad I can re-live these strips one day at a time. I wonder what else Calvin and Hobbes will excavate from this buried trove of picnic trash that has transmorgified into a Calvinosaur dig.
To those here at Calvin And Hobbes. My father and I are moving to our new house. So we will be offline for several days (sad) If the Calvinosaur is constructed before we retun. can you let us know how it turned out…..thank you……
I don’t think Calvin misses the fact that he has found a fork or a bottle. I think he is just letting his imagination transform these items into what he wants them to be in this particular fantasy.
I googled “Calvinosaur” and the only references are this cartoon and someone’s handle. When is some Bill Watterson fan actually going to name a critter this?
If you must be gone and can’t see Calvin for some reason, there is a calendar up in the right corner and you can also check “previous”. None of us want to miss any of this!!
..the ‘ol ‘Is a good old Calvin and Hobbes repeat better and a new lame Family Circle comic?’ arguement….I’ll split the difference and read Moderately Confused….
This ones in S.F., CA. I’m sure there has to be like places around:D I’m a kid at heart learned from my Dad :…D
Good to think OUTSIDE the Norm sometimes. Plus What is NORMAL

WOW—I just now got this email from a dear old friend of mine, Merle Graffam, who I used to do amateur archeological digs with many years ago. This is no joke even though the timing is quite hilarious because of the ‘Calvinosaur’ storyline….
He said: “Today, June 19, 2009 the dinosaur I found two miles from my house in 1999 (now housed until August at the Museum of Northern Arizona in Flagstaff) was officially named Nothronychus graffami to be noted as a new species forever more. I only had to wait 9 years.”
Can ya dig it?—My old pal has a dinosaur named after him!
Good going, Mr. Graffam!
(You too, Calvin)
Jor-El and BC13, not too long ago there was a strip where calvin was being a T-Rex feasting on his fresh kill; diving in face first, of course, without even the aid of paws, claws or hands. When he comes up for air in the last panel, face covered with something very messy (maybe spaghetti), he is in a fancy restaurant with a ver chagrined Mom and Dad!
If only we kept the imagination of a 6 year old forever. How great life would look. Lying on your back in the yard seeing things in the clouds. Digging up a fork, seeing things in the dark……..keep it up Calvin/Hobbes. Still the best strip ever.
Luck with the move Ladywolfe. If I remember right the next three strips are on this then he goes to a new storyline. But as long as you aren’t past 7 days, if you aren’t a genius, you can still back up and see them like Silverpearl said. Trust me it’ll be worth it.
Calvin and Hobbes are really getting into it, I can’t wait to see the Calvinosaur. Pehaps Steven Spielberg might be interested in their find. Utenilsaurus more like!
Grazer quite something that you know the man - it must have been quite a honor for him.
Wolf family best of luck on the move.
My niece collected the tiny coffee spoons from McDonalds and played with them for hours. They became people, animals wherever her imagination tok her. But she wasn’t anywhere near as active as Calvin!
Ladywolf, when you get to your new home, remember it’s not too late in the year yet to start a garden. (You said “house”; I’m assuming a yard.) Best way in the world to root yourself in a new place.
Everybody, for Grazer’s friend’s pet, google:

The calvinosaur A very rare species. Gosh I wonder how tall it will be when it it completed. I hope he don’t mess it up like he did that model plane.

Hobbes, will you quit forking around.

Hobbes, the colours are so that you can distinguish one species from another. It will also make it easier to assemble the various extinct fossils.

It’s admirable to make a funny story with nothing but simple things which others don’t either look at!

The Calvinosaur was a rare species indeed. They’re lucky to have found one.

I can’t believe he doesn’t recognize a fork when he sees it but it’s more fun to use his imagination.

Macushlalondra - it must have something to do with having such a wild imagination that he misses the most obvious facts. Lol.
Wolf family - best of luck with the move.

Jor-El, you really don’t want to know. You might say that he eats like some pre-historic creature himself.

Very true. Only 1 (one) ever existed….and that one only lasted from the time it was dug up until it’s discoverer’s bath time.
