Well, obviously Moe didn’t watch the same program. Sort of like the old saying about bumblebees. According to the laws of physics, it’s impossible for a bumblebee to fly, but they do anyways because bumblebees don’t know anything about physics.
Calvin should never overlook the obvious. In this case the obvious is that fact that Sparrow Hawks knock Sparrows, like Calvin, right out of the air. As a matter of fact, some of them do it simply because they can. Learn to fly away and hide, Calvin.
I personally like Calvin’s approach. However, I think Calvin needs to not be so masochistic in chiding Moe.
Sabotage the swing Calvin, and sit there as bait for Moe.
The bullies from our class either went into the service or into jail. The update from the last class reunion is that a couple have become, “career criminals”. The ones that came back from the service look like they were, “Rode hard and put away wet!”
Hugh B. Hayve:
I enjoyed this animation too. It reminded me of my little dog. He’d eye his tail like that and grab it and spin in a circle. He’d finally end up snarling at it and chewing voraciously until you’d hear a yelp that he’d hurt himself. It was always entertaining to watch but I worried he had brain damage sometimes!
Just get the tiger, who will take care of it. Omigosh. Just do it, leave the bully-overpowerment to Hobbes and fly away like an ACTUAL sparrow would do. Although don’t even try it with hummingbirds- a few of them can drive off a full-grown Bald Eagle. Just a little something.
I don’t need the Genius button, I’m too smart for my own good. Ow.
I know what you mean Dino-1, I see the kittens at the barn doing the same thing all the time. I think they do it to hone their hunting skills….or maybe they are mental or something.

Unfortunately Calvin you’re no sparrow….and you shouldn’t really crow!

Calvin, you are not a sparrow, although in this instance you seem to be a bit of a bird brain.

calvin, when you watch those nature channels you should try checking the internet to find out if there are any side effects to what they say

Calvin it’s because the sparrow have learn’t not to talk to the crows about it first

Somehow I can’t imagine Calvin watching a nature show. Especially when they get to the mating rituals…

Greater maneuverability wouldn’t help a sparrow IF IT JUST SAT THERE!

I can’t believe our Calvin actually hit Moe with his chin!
alan.gurka about 15 years ago
Calvin, you birdbrain! The key word is maneuverability. Sparrows don’t just sit on their perches waiting for the crows to knock them off.

New lesson learned well, Calvin….. Aerodynamics don’t count for diddley squat when it comes to calling the school yard bully “stupid”.
secretasianman1270 about 15 years ago
What Calvin forgot to realize is… smaller size & greater maneuverability only come into play if the “sparrow” is MOVING.

Apparently Calvin missed the episode when the Cheetah pounces on the speedy Gazelle.

Several of you thought of the same thing before I did: no sparrow outmaneuvers a crow by just sitting there on the branch and taunting it! :))
BW was of the opinion that Moes bred on locker room floors.
Downeasta about 15 years ago
Calvin should pull out his transmogrifier and turn the bully into something more pleasant. I suppose it would be safe to say it wont happen tho.
pintcape about 15 years ago
have to know how to take care of yourself before mouthing off to someone that’s bigger and meaner then you.
