Two sure signs Calvin is sick: he becomes monosyllabic and doesn’t stop faking when told today is Saturday. Aw.

really funny, poor calvin, feelin really sad him. Mom is good after all those struggles. But she should really have understood on the first say.

Instead of swine flu it is tiger flu. Hobbs may be responsible for a whole new epidemic. As bad as they mishandled swine flu, the government will probably undergo a complete breakdown with tiger flu.

Yes, Mom does care. Even my own Mom put a little more urgency in her step when I was sick on weekends.

Moms do care… . .if it fits THEIR agenda.

Considering the randomness of replayed strips/series of strips, I think it is kind of weird/cool that it is Saturday in real life AND in the strip today… :)

I don’t think the strips are that random. True, they are not synchronized with our current holidays, but I think they do follow the Monday-Saturday patern because if there is a weekly series it will finish on Saturday and if there is to be a new series, it will start on Monday. At least, I think that’s the patern.

The Sunday strip anchors the pattern to a matching day-by-day pattern, although not into a matching seasonal pattern.

Susan001, you must have noticed the rotary-dial phone too. I wonder if the doctor had an alphabetic exchange/prefix: OXford 6-7721.

This time Mom moves with dispatch, after delaying twice last night. That’s more like it! This might be one of those times when an immediate response is necessary to save a life.

i believe this strip was not originally on a Saturday, so his mom was checking to see if he was really sick. The proof is A-he didn’t stop faking when he heard that, and/or B-He didn’t know it was a weekday.

Well, this sequence started the day after a Sunday strip and ran for six days – I’d say this was originally a Saturday strip!

Usually you don’t call Dr.’s for a sick child. When mine was small our son in diapers was really sick with fever and Dr. put him in hospital. After those days in hospital my son would never go back into a hospital room evan when I had his little sister. Their both adults now.

Calvin’s really sick! Mom’s panicking now.
