Bad boys bad boys
Watcha gonna do, whatcha gonna do
when they come for you
When you were six
And up to no good tricks
You go to school and you learn the golden rule
So why are you acting like a runnin’ fool
If you get hot you gotta get cool
Bad boys, bad boys
Watcha gonna do whatcha gonna do
When they come for you (repeat)
Considering the six-year-old, ‘fugitive from justice’ seems pretty natural. Wait…he’s six? A kindergartener? I thought he was eight, and his classroom looks more like first or second grade.
Hobbes is ‘bushed’. That’s why he’s holding on to one to keep his balance. Calvin is unbalanced as usual, so he’s now in ‘another state’ of perplexity, bewilderment. confusion and/or flummox. Calvin probably would not be confounded by those words, though. His vocabulary is what I like (most) about him.
Maybe Calvin is ‘sandwiched’ between one state and another. He is ‘loafing’ right now. If Calvin were ‘well-bred’, the ‘yeast’ he could do would be to go home and abjectly confess everything.
Puddleglum2, are you a human being or Hammy the Squirrel operating under a pseudonym? :)) Because your aptness for puns, if anything, surpasses even Digital Frog’s, and that’s really saying something.
If I let my mind go that far I’d be a raving lunatic.
I still wonder what kind of sandwich did Calvin bring with him while he and Hobbes walk down into the wood? Peanut and jelly? I rather add butter on bread before I put creamy peanut butter; otherwise I hate to see the bread tear up when I put creamy peanut butter. LOLs! But it tastes good! The jelly is too sweet for me to eat. :-p ack! I might think I will switch the sweet jelly to sugar-free jelly or jam. Good thinking! :-)
Calvin has again made things go from bad to worse. His parents will eventually notice that he’s not around, then find the car in the ditch. Then they will fear every terrible thing on the planet happened to their boy. They just had their house broken into and now Calvin’s been kidnapped?
Or maybe Calvin will get hungry, forget he was on the lam, go home and make a sandwich. Then be shocked when his mother see’s the car in the ditch.
Hello All, I have been following along for awhile, but decided today would be a good day to sign in, say hello, and flag the cause of a ripple in our pond. Couth is something you either possess or are lacking. You would mostly likely be happier in another pond, bob rocks, we do not use that mentality here in this one.
Calvin, wait til dark and then ring your doorbell. Mom and Dad will be glad to see you. Of course, you will still be grounded for life, but there are worse things….
What a mess-poor Calvin. None of my kids ever pulled a stunt like that, but years ago my brother got in my parents car & pretended to be driving. When he got done it rolled out into the street. Mom looked out the window and said-oh look-there’s a car just like ours……hey-that is ours!
Doty was a repeat offender and was warned about his activities. I didn’t see what it was he did to get banned, but
I know he went out of his way to provoke people and start arguments.
The only nice thing I ever saw him post, was for me and my
writings, That was the day he got anned for starting stuff elsewhere.
As for RobRock, I am sure the multiple flags will get some attention. More of the same as he did today could get him “evicted”.
When I was about Calvin’s age, I watched my sister playing with matches behind a detached garage and she accidentally started a small fire. I ran off and hid in the bushes fearing guilt by association. I heard the sirens as the fire department came and put out the fire before any serious damage. But I was scared and stayed in hiding. A woman looked out her window nearby and said “shame on you.” I found another hiding place. Eventually as it was getting dark I got hungry and went home. My sister wouldn’t fess up so we both got spankings.
Good afternoon to all! I usually cruise around the different ‘toons and have often been discouraged by the lack of vocabulary talent. On to another idea; Slim, how many are you up to now? Wildmustang, try some apple butter or any fruit butter with the peanut butter….not as sweet and just as tasty! Love you all! (HUG)
The moderators are slow on weekends. I’m not sure if they are here at all. If this was a weekday this matter would have been taken care of by now.
I don’t know if Joe has been banned, but if so it may be because he let himself get bated into an exchange of insults a couple of days ago. Anyone remember who it was with, and are they gone, too?
@Linda Arney, that is good idea. It must be delicious! :-P
I usually cut the fresh apple into wedge of apple and peanut butter on bread and then eat them deliciously! :-P
Wink! ;-)

Mom and Grandma used to boil dandelion greens and pussywillow greens and serve them in butter. Alot of people make dandelion wine too.
I just got the feeling that Calvin’s going to find he’s gone around in circles. It’s real easy to do if you’re walking in unfamiliar woods.
Dry: Yum, sounds good. I forgot milkweed greens too. I don’t fix the pussywillows myself because they need to be gathered in swampy, buggy areas. Dandelion and milkweeds grow wild in the field so much easier and tastier in my opinion.
Joe disagreed a bit, and argues his point a lot, but he NEVER was crude. I honestly miss all the arguments, the back and forth between “the go comics crowd”. It was sometimes boring, but usually entertaining. I MISS JOE AND WANT HIM BACK!!! They should ban Bob Rocks for profanity, but give Joe his place back. He didn’t use any profanity.
I agree. I hope Joe hasn’t been banned. Sure, he’s too easily provoked, but he was provoked. (This is assuming that he has been banned, and that it was for the fight that I’m thinking of). And he strikes me as the type that might learn from his mistakes.
Besides, if he goes, who is everyone going to pick on?
Hobbes reminds me of myself in this particular strip. Calvin says something about living “on the lam” and it makes him think of “lamb” and subsequently, food. Sounds like something I do on a daily basis.
Dont read the comments till you make yours .
Calvin one way out of this is to lie your age get a good job and when you save enough money, in say about 10 yrs.
Buy your mom a brand new car and drive up the same drive way and put the parking brake on before you give it to her.
I assure you, that you will be forgiven.

Six years old, can really exaggerate, and under-exaggerate as well. This, in different eyes, can really churn a bad judgement of the kid.
Wasn’t able to comment yesterday cuz I had to do a all night route. I’m afraid it’ll be like that every tuesday and thursday.

Six year olds have a tendency to emptional highs and lows. I feel sympathy for Calvin. He is scared and not able to cope with it.

To a six year old, the next block over is a state/world away from home. Far, far away.

For weeks I have been predicting Mom hugging Calvin and everything is alright. Anyone care to gamble now? Chickens!
Of course Calvin could stumble out of the woods and into Ms Wormwood’s summer class. Same time. Same station.
