This doesn’t seem like praise to me. Jason should have just stuck with his original plan to say, “Dad, I’m so proud of you for donating blood!”, without comparing his Dad to other heroes. I’ve got a feeling that if Marcus’s Dad had been the one donating blood, Jason would have simply said to him, “Mr. Jones, you donated blood? How heroic! I’m so proud of you!”. The quality of heroism is just as important as the quantity.
