Jason: Nintendo is warning they won't have enough gamecubes to meet initial demand when they launch next month. Microsoft is saying the same thing about its Xbox game system. Marcus: You don't suppose they took our 20 million pre-orders seriously, do you? Jason: It's 25 million now. I was bored yesterday.

I think that the Xbox really changed our perception of video games. Instead of featuring a cuddly mascot or a low-cost handheld companion, Microsoft focused on the 18-to-49 demographic of gamers. Couple that with a great finesse on creating games that entertain in both single-player and multi-player modes (Halo, Unreal Championship) and the fact they perfected the online gaming process on their first try (the service is just that good-you probably won’t care that you pay $50 a year for it), and you have the reason that Microsoft is taken so seriously in the industry.

But for some reason developers copy and paste the work from the Xbox to the PS3, that’s what I hate. Exclusives are the only thing better than Xbox games.

When you pre-order something though, don’t you need to put some money down as a down-payment?
