The real story is actually quite sad, Odysseus returns home only to find that suitors for his wife are every where. He disguises himself as a beggar, and sneaks in only to have to kill the other beggar. He gets help from the gods and kills all the suitors. He wife is overjoyed to see him after 20 years.
