Earl asks Nadine, “What’s the one thing a writer must have in order to write?” Nadine says, “A pen.” Earl says, “A writer can write with a stick in the sand if he had to.” Nadine says, “Okay, so what’s the one thing a writer must have in order to write?” Earl says, “I just told you.”
