The conservatives believe that laws, such as The Constitution, are subject to amending, if needed, based upon a prescribed democratic processes - due process. The liberals believe that such laws are ‘living & breathing documents’, subject to constant reinterpretation, based upon the changing environment - whims, if you will. Therefore, APATHY and other human or animal emotions play a very, very significant role in liberals’ understanding and practice of jurisprudence.
