    Lacoste still makes shirts and uses the alligator logo, so I’m not sure how this works as a Plugger joke.

    Their clothing is also pretty high-end, so this really doesn’t work for a demographic that supposedly prides itself in worn jeans and well-used work shirts.

    The alligator emblems were on several of my shirts … and I can tell you, as a teacher’s/farmer’s kid, I didn’t wear fancy labels. They used to be regular clothes. The new LaCoste stuff (actually easily 2 years old by now) is “designer-retro”, thus expensive.
