Yeah, well, blame Congress. They wrote the laws, he’s supposed to execute them. (Thought I’d save you the time, ANandy.)

motivemagus, ANandy is busy watching the Glenn Beck Cry-a-thon on Fox News…

I don’t get this joke… Obama’s stimulus has nothing to do with helping state budgets which is the problem these states have with taking the $… the aid is to create jobs, not pay off debts!

It would have helped if Congress had read the stimulus first

I know in Pa. they have written in the newspapers how much the state is getting and how much is going to schools, highways, etc. The stimulus package passed and that money is on the way.

Humphries : If you are in Germany, how is it that you are so involved in what’s happening over here? It would be better to be constructive, rather than simply insulting - unless that is as far as your mental capacity allows??? And for Hopson, et al; for your information approximately 80-85% of all state funds now come from WASHINGTON, via Congress. THAT is why the cartoon Damsel-In-Distress (it is NOT Highbrow - its 30s-40s Movies (Sgt Preston of the Yukon), and later 60s-70s cartoons (Dudley Dooright)) has a “State Budgets” legend - If you people would simply get an education it would really HELP!!!

WillBerry loves to tell us how wrong we are, yet can’t even get the facts straight on cartoon character “Dudley Do-Right of the Mounties” created by Jay Ward Studios almost 4 decades ago for the series “Rocky & Bullwinkle”.

fennec, note the anger issues. I’ve mentioned StewieZ and sock-puppets. Well here there’s same issues, abrasive presentation and “powerpresentations” in the hope to awe(?). Not to forget absolute assurance in self. – Will puppet, I have my spies every where, how else would I have an idea of what’s going on”

Fennec - I am not dealing with a personal anger, just disturbed by the anger of such as Hopson and Humphris, =apparently= blindly insulting folkd! I’m sorry I could not put the exact date on Dudley, but Dudley WAS developed from Sergeant Preston of the Yukon - with a definite lead from the silents where the Perils of Pauline was a major serial box office hit P.S. I proudly watched Rocky and Bullwinkle when it was new, when it was in re-runs (70s), and now, thanks to the wonders of TVLand, etc,… in re=re=runs! SO how do we date such broadcasts today?? I feel sorry any intelligent life out there, if there is any, that happens to pick up the television signals of our shows in broadcast, re-broadcast and re-re-broadcast

fennec, if were indeed so then I’d say a prayer for him. However, at this point I’m quite suspicious, ie puppy whatever-it-is-now started exactly the same as WillB, and like StewieZ just before him. Postings were long, abrasive and at times irrational. As time progresses you’ll note some posts make no sense or are entirely made up. Simon_J gave a tip once about the use of mutiple “sock-puppetts” to make it seem several opinions were being posted. SJ also warned of the massive “volume posts” and so far he’s nailed it. Final note is watch the reference(s) to comments made before the charachter appeared on scene. WillieB has already done this twice, one comment was made last December. – PS Eventually the poster will expose himself for what he is and will drop out for a while.

Humphries, et al : I’m sorry for being verbose at times, but I also wonder why you all seem to think this site is your own private posting ground where only initiates need respond? As for me, I had used the USCG seal, for that is the service in which I served, but seeing so many animals, I switched to my favorite old mutt (cross basset and something) which is our son’s dog, about 12 (~84 in human years maybe). I don’t know about anyone else, but where I see the anger here is the venomous insults I read bandied at ANandy and others who are not on the left fringe. I just stumbled across this site via a link from the Jerusalem Post, New York Times, and Toronto Globe and Mail (I read those sights and more daily), all dealing with the Oliphant Storm-Trooper cartoon.

Dredpiraterobts - The number comes from reviewing sources in NC / SC / VA. Remember that such funds as education, unemployment, medicare, medicaid, food stamps, even Interstate Highway funds come from Washington through the states - There is even a portion of the Federal sales tax on gasoline that is funneled back to the states, some for highway maintenance, some, based on interstate mileage within the state, for specific support for the Interstate signs! This last one I learned about through a friend who worked in our local NCDOT. I’m not sure what New York gets, (I lived in NYS for many years, Ogdensburg, Grand Island, Rochester, lastly Manhattan (for 12 years)) Please remember that much of this comes from sources you might not expect - I would not doubt that The National Endowment for the Arts might help provide by grants in the performing arts world (Lincoln Center), perhaps funneled through a state agency.

No, Humphries - you’re probably wrong about everything… Now back to the ‘Toon, I - like the posters here who are obviously LIbs with vested interests - believe it is too early to dispense with Obama and his team just yet - I am not the right-wing syncophant you think I am (But in all honesty would vote straight GOP ticket tomorrow if possible )- I do not claim to have perfect knowledge of what this country needs and have put it into God’s capable hand…That being said I am glad I’m not a democrat because you folks are running out of time. But it is too early to blame Pres. Obama for everything; but we can blame him for his ultra-left aspirations which are creating more and more disappointment with him amongst the electorate. On the nature and practice of Sock-Puppetry; It is too much work and creates too much friction, but you “internet purists” are sadly mistaken if you believe making posts here is the great, inviolate means of communication that you think it is. The humble motivemagus now claims to be one of the founding members of a major player in the last two presidential elections MoveOn.org - No bias or subterfuge in that organization - I’m sure ;^)

I bet you work for AlGor, you’re always pushing hybrid car tech. If me and my brother can build a Natural gas fueled coupe in our garage why can’t you geniuses make a smartcar worth building on your own?

LLeRay - I’m not defending anyone’s policies, right or left - as I’ve pointed out elsewhere, I’m an Independent Centrist - I don’t like OBAMAMAMA because he reminds me too much of Richard “I’m not a Crook” Nixon, saying anything to get elected and then going off on an empire building path (this time in government instead of nations) that is diametrically opposed to the nation’s founding fathers.
