Impertinent squirrels! This whole website is infested with them. Our cozy couch of comfortable confusion over at Pibgorn is under constant squirrelly assault.

Don’t be so grumpy – he just wants to hibernate for the winter under your hat!

No, Doctor Strange Toon–she can always “barbie” one with her finger and serve it in plain view of many of its “buddies”.

And given the current look on her face, the probability of that happening is rather high at the moment.

Maybe he thought Broomie’s nose was a nut…a big one.

Maybe he thinks that bump on Broomie’s nose is some kind of nut that’s just waiting to be picked.

In real life, the fact that the shadows are falling on the opposite sides of the two trees would mean that Broom Hilda is the light source in this picture. Unless it’s the squirrel who is emitting light.

But this is a cartoon, so it doesn’t have to follow the laws of optics. It’s humorous and surreal, like the famous Belgian painter Magritte, who did a painting of a pipe and wrote “This is not a pipe” on it, in Belgian. I don’t speak Belgian so I don’t remember what the actual words were, but in Spanish it would have read “Este no es un tubo.”

    This was in 1928.

Yes, that is undoubtedly the source of the ambient light that schizoid mentions. :)
