This was definitely before texting became all the rage. I remember checking my email every few minutes.

~I came to really dislike instant msg. I’d be in the middle of something, and would get interrupted. I left my computer on 24/7, and would stay signed in while we ate dinner, etc. I’d come back to find instant msgs. asking why I hadn’t answered. I don’t miss AOL.

AOL needed an off for their IM. Unlike in their world, in the real world, you didn’t always wnat nor have time to talk to your friends. and what if you had to go onto a family memebrs account for them? Then explain you’re not who they think you are. Or get ignored by your fiend because you have no way of knowing that’s really his niece.
