Peter: All right, Goldthwait, here's the deal. I'm a Junior, you're a freshman. I'm ordering you to change out of that shirt. Morton: Pay me. Peter: You want money?! Fine! Fine! Here's $5! Now hurry up! Take it off! Take it off! Take it off! Take it off! Er, put it back on. This doesn't look good. Morton: You know, I always thought I'd make a good Chippendales dancer.

You don’t even make a good chippendale foot stool.

Truly, the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil!

Wow. Correctly paraphrased. Unusual.

I just love pretentious compliments intended to make the giver seem as intelligent as the receiver but instead end up sounding conceited.

Sometimes we just want the poster to know that somebody “got it.” However, I don’t think that was a paraphrase. It was a direct quote. Depends on which translation you read, of course. I’ve had two cups of coffee and I’m spoiling for a fight!!

I concur with thebird55. Usually, this bible verse is mis-quoted WAY TOO OFTEN as “Money is the root of all evil” or some other such non-sense. It is refreshing to read it rendered accurately.

Ah, geez! You asked, Peter, you recieved.
Peter and Morton remind of my older brother and myself when in high school together by one thing: “Panelucas” was a junior and I was a freshman.

sestinatim, I don’t think thebird55 was being sarcastic. As treB said (and I agree), too many people misquote this. I too, was pleasantly surprised that someone, somewhere got it right. I cringe every time I hear “Money is the root of all evil” … sorry Pink Floyd, you too.

Morton, you’d be about as good a Chippendales dancer as Chris Farley.

I’ve always hated the idea that upperclassmen are somehow better than freshmen. They’re just older, that’s all
