I lost power for 50 minutes yesterday. Fifty long, dull, dreary minutes.

It was silly of me to think I might find a reason for the blackout on TV. But the almost immediate sounds of many sirens and hovering helicopters nearby gave me a probable answer.

Now I must go reset the time on about a dozen electronic gadgets around the house.

Go lie down! Enjoy the quiet.

After Gustav, we were without power for almost a week. I was not bothered. I just sat in a chair with a flashlight and read. It was wonderful. True, it was hot, but with a good book you can forget all about a little physical discomfort.

Does Jeri really think the lights came back on because she bellowed? Of course she does, the world revolves around her!

She must be an engineer. They set the parameters, afterall.

I tried what Jeri did but it didn’t work for me - I had to wait two days for PG&E to restore the power. I was glad God invented motels (I could do without electricity, but not water).

I had the power go out a few weeks ago. Occured some time after midnight and came back in the afternoon.
