If you respond to a comment by someone else, you are implying that you are willing to hold a conversation.
The onus is on you. If you do not wish to hold a conversation, then why do you respond? As for myself, I am perfectly willing to converse with anyone who responds to any comment I leave, whether the subject be religion, politics or whether pigs have wings.
