Yep. I hear all that. But, golly gee, isn’t volunteering a great way to get valuable experience? I mean, gloriosky, it’s doing something, right?=More seriously: there are so many degreed people out there. What if America has a greater need for truck drivers? Wouldn’t it make more sense for a young person to go to truck driver school, or to some school where they can learn a needed skill, than to a college/university/academy where they get a BA and just add to the surplus?=These days, like it or not, for better or for worse, it sucks to have a degree. I know – I have three!
Today’s lesson: “Nobody cares what you did on your summer vacation, myself included. I’m only supposed to make sure that your skills in written English haven’t completely deteriorated thanks to the really lax standards on the Internet.”
con’d: One can’t rely on the adds, one must look for a job in an active way everyday.
BTW, what Clark Kent said is just a bunch of nonsense. All of my kids taught courses during the Master and Doctoral studies, and they made enough to cover their costs and tuitions. Later on they got career positions at very good salaries. Mind you, engineering is a very wide field and those positions always go begging. Companies are always scouting for engineers.
Possibly. Even though age discrimination is illegal under Title IX.=And Clark’s post may be nonsense to some, but it’s certainly not to others.=It’s always “whining” when it’s somebody else’s misery.

Summer vacation is for the teachers; that the students also get one is a side effect.

What she also forgot on her summer vacation list is work at a fast food joint for the summer for money.
