Why can’t a painter draw?

I grabbed acrylic paints and a piece of computer paper when I was 16, attempting to recreate a landscape pic hanging on our wall. It turned out nearly identical! I had no experience at all.Then I stopped too, because it was too stressful. Too much of a perfectionist here and I didn’t want to mess up what I’d already painted xD.

Have you ever tried doing comics?I can paint really good (or did when I was 16), but I can’t draw the best, hehe.

I can’t do calligraphy but I can draw what it looks like.

I’ve been painting professionally for over 60 years – it has been great and I’ve painted some interesting people.

I can paint plastic models, miniatures for gaming, and the like; hand me a canvas and a palette and tubes of oils or acrylics (even though I’ve used them for tinting colors on gaming figures) and you WILL get a total mess – or a panic-stricken artiste!Oh, HELP!

I took a cartooning class at a local college about 10 yrs ago, I can’t draw a stick figure but was amazed at what I did with some guidance. I look at the work today and just don’t believe what I did – Margaret Thatcher was my best. I still can’t draw a stick figure.

I’ve been drawing mechanical illustrations for a living for the last 40 years. Can’t draw people at all!
