Most Democrats would consider me as being on the hard-core Right (I’m not, but that’s another post) but I have always respected Specter for for his honesty and independence. Doesn’t mean I agree with him (I often don’t) but I’ve always felt I can trust him, going back to his days as Philadelphia District Attorney. (Same for Ed Rendell, another former Philly D.A.)
Gotta disagree, Pschearer. In 2004 he accepted help from Bush to win his primary against Toomey, then in the fall campaign he refused to try to help win Pennsylvania for Bush. That is not the way an honorable man acts.

Ya ever wonder why they refer to him as Arlen Spincter in PA?
