My friends’ cat loves to put his head under the faucet in the kitchen sink until she turns on the water (so much for the myth about cats hating water).
We had a cat once who loved to fight the water coming out of a pistol nozzle; we’d prop the nozzle on the coiled hose and either turn the faucet on and off or step on the hose to make it spurt or shoot up about two inches, and he would swat and pounce until he was soaked from end to end.
There must be a lot of cats who do hate water, else where would the myth come from?
But really, it’s like anything else in the real world - whatever it is, some will like it and some won’t. On YouTube I’ve seen all kinds of different animals making friends. For example, an orphaned tiger cub suckling from a dog, who is licking it to keep it clean. Both seem quite happy!
My favourite is a very plump guinea pig, who is put in a box with a large snake. The intention is for the snake to eat it. But the snake is quite indifferent, and the guinea pig climbs over its coils (occasionally pushing them away), finds a nice place to sit, and promptly goes to sleep. (Of course, the snake might just not have been hungry at the moment.)

What I heard is that cats don’t like to get wet because they’ll feel unclean or something…
