Yes, the same vibrations move through the air and earth in the same patterns, but the translation of these phenomena into perception as ‘sound’ in the commonly-accepted sense relies upon there being a receiver of some sort and corresponding auditory centers in the brain.”
All of which, of course, would still result in a response of “I still don’t care” from most people.
If you ask a School Board in Texas or Kansas, they’ll say “The tree never fell, it’s been lying on the ground since God created it that way.”
