Ordinary Basil. The Odian palace, bursting with every luxury imaginable, was a gilded cage. "Ze vorld must never discover ze power crystals," Eurika warned as she ushered Louise and Basil down a long hall lined with Odian portraits. "Zis palace is your home now. Ze perils of ze cavern outside safeguard ze secret and prevent your leaving." Basil and Louise exchanged frightened glances. The Odian queen's eyes suddenly locked onto Basil's. "However, zere is ze prophecy: 'Escape vill a boy with hair of flame. Given to him be all -- salvation or blame. Goodness vill balance and ze clouds vill not burn ven he brings about evil's return.'" "Is that," Basil asked, "about me?" "Ve hope so," Eurika replied. "So... does that mean we CAN leave?" Louise asked, brightening. "Ze prophecy only mentions a boy," Eurika warned."All who haf tried to leave ze safety of ze palace have perished. Ze choice is yours.
