Soy is expensive because it usually costs more to produce and turn into products..that is why tofu, soymilk, soy burgers, etc. cost more than their mainstream counterparts.
Frankly, my guess would be that the infrastructure and expertise that can produce it inexpensively is not available on the American continent yet. So it’s an import.
Sadly, I believe that if cattle were raised and produced the way God had intended it would be just as healthy as the soy stuff (“Ew,” just my opinion of it). We have the infrastructure. But, sadly, the corporate greed too.
Gweedo Murray,
The problem with soy products is not the cost it is the taste. Have you ever eaten a soy burger or soy milk. DISGUSTING! I cannot believe there are actually people out there that consume that stuff. If you want meat then eat meat do not try to pass off some kind of soy substitute as meat. I would not let that foul stuff passed my lips.

I guess if you look at it the right way, there’s always a reason to be happy. A continued pulse is as good a reason as any.
