Jon is (or was) a cartoonist - we were told so at the very beginning of the strip. Oddly enough, Jim Davis must’ve thought it funnier to keep Jon’s place in the work force a mystery.

Garfield never thinks about giving a little something back to Jon. He’s totally selfish but I don’t think we’d have him any other way.

Garfield is patriotic and wants to help the ailing retail and credit industry.

Jon looks as if he needs to wake up. Get him some of that nuclear coffee!
