church bouncer: “Are you on the list?
person: “But the sign says ‘visitors welcome’! This isn’t the Pearly Gates, for crying out loud!”
bouncer: “Sorry. Force of habit; I work at a high-tech security place when I’m not at church.”
A lot of churches have had “bouncers,” for decades, and now they are wondering why there aren’t more people in the pews.
Sometimes I wonder if churches could use extra security with violence happening. Most recently a church here locally someone was murdered. A different state at a different church another shotting. Our church would try to welcome with open arms.
